Yes, the mob may just sit there, being a "queen bee" type bug, but are you supposed to be able to skill up on it all day long? Doesn't seem like a good balance of risk vs. reward to me. Until I see evidence, it's an exploit, just like the acid pools, shooting mana bolts into the sky, trapping mobs in geometry, etc... were.
An exploit is using a game mechanic--in a manner other than intended by the developers--to your benefit.. Exploits generally provide far more reward than risk. In this case, the OP is basically telling folks how they can use an in-game mob to level up magic within a day with little risk. That certainly seems like an exploit to me. It's also contradictory to all of the efforts Aventurine has taken to remove previous "easy" ways to level up skills.

In order to skill up with magic on it you have to do at least 1 damage to it. In order to do 1 damage to you need a staff with a damage modifier greater than .44. Typically, you are able to nearly every spell (earth spells tend not to work) with a Darkcepter, and once the spell is past level 25-30, a deer stick.
Honestly, as far as risk v reward is concered its more risk than reward when you compare it to skilling up magic on low level, or1 newbie mobs. In your original post, you said:
Ok, there is a very easy way to level up every magic skill in the game. There is a mob called Hivekin Queen. This mob is highly resistant to magic and does not move. If you use a Darkcepter, or any staff that has more than .4 dmg you will do at least 1 dmg to the queen every hit. Since this mob doesn't move, you can use it to train anything (with earth magic you need to use tranish then start hitting it). This is how people are making out magic schools in a day.
With that said, its not the only way to level magic, but its the easiest. You can level magic just farming weak mobs, but you'll have more down time due to being hit.
The title of this thread is "Letting the cat out of the bag: Hive Queen and magic"!
Nowhere in your OP did you say the queen fights back, that there are other mobs you have to clear to fight the queen, that you have a chance to be killed by the mobs (much less other players).. The title of this thread and the limited information you provided in the OP make it seem like this is an exploit and that you're promoting it by telling people about it. It wasn't until I pressed the issue that further information came out. Any newbie reading this board would have come to the same conclusion I did, which is ultimately harmful to the game, because it would be an example of "just another exploit" in Darkfall. Now that you've provided more detail it doesn't seem nearly as egregious an exploit, but I do still question it. Why? I just can't imagine Aventurine deliberately designed a mob so that players could max out magic skills in a single day. When I say I want evidence, it's clarification from Aventurine that this mob and players using it to max out magic skills in a single day are "working as intended". From:
DarthRaiden: "Hive Queen is not bugged"
You(Xpiher): "The mob is speficially designed to this way. Its not a bug, its intentional. "
WharGh0ul: " It's not a "bug""
Cosy: "is not a exploit just a mob that is special"
Four different players all saying queen isn't bugged and/or that what you've posted isn't an exploit. You said it was intentional? How do you know? Are you on the development team? Has it been specifically addressed by Aventurine? If not, your statement is meaningless. As I said before, I have a hard time believe Aventurine would deliberately design an encounter that lets players level max out magic schools in a single day (as you indicated they could in your original post - your words, not mine). It's more likely that the devs simply didn't have the foresight to see how players could and would use the encounter to their advantage. That's how most exploits are eventually found. The devs design and implement something and players find ways to abuse the mechanics for personal gain (in all games, that is, obviously not just Darkfall).Once an exploit is found, it's up to the developers to analyze the situation and decide how best to address it.
If you think it's a bug then just report it to Aventurine or ask them if it's bugged or not or an exploit to try and level your magic on it. This way we could sit here arguing the toss until the end of time without a word from AV. Pretty much everyone in a half decent clan knows about certain mobs and their benefits and if Aventurine are ignorant to this then they need to play their own game some more!
I use the Crog to increase my magic (got fireball to 100 last night), I go out and kill him with fire magic to level the spells and schools. Then I skin him for the enchants and mats, then do it all over again. I leveled witchcraft by just hitting the crog and not killing him (Witchcraft damage sux). Sometimes yes I'm using a tree rock or mountain side to hide from the Cgogs attacks whilst I can still hit him, he doesn't stay there forever and moves alot.
Am I exploiting? Using the terrain to my advantage like that? I don't think so, I'm not forcing the Crog to act in anyway it wouldn't normally nor am I exploiting terrain by glitching into it but am using it for cover. If I glitched into a rock and fired at it from total saftey from the crog and players then it would be a clear exploit, but I'm not and the crog could charge me at any time (and has) or PKs could come and kill me and loot my regs (has happened several times).
I've never gone to the Hive Queen but just because she chooses not to move it's exploitative to use her to help get your magic up? I think it's going a bit far to make that accusation, it's like those guys that get owned and then cry that it wasn't real PvP because it wasn't a fair fight!
Next we'll be hearing that swimming underwater is exploiting geometry to escape death!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
A feature of Darkfall is being able to use terrain to your advantage (provided you're not exploiting geometry). Personally, I really like this feature.
Killing the mob via normal combat? I don't see anything wrong with that. As for not killing the mob? It seems cheap and reminds me of bloodwalls and/or tether abuse (players that abuse mob AI and aggro radius to level up ranged/magic by attacking a mob at the end of it's aggro radius "tether", which means they basically get "Free hits"). Then again, if there's enough risk involved in perpetually kiting the Crog, it doesn't bother me.
Swimming underwater? Nothing wrong with that. Logging out in water to avoid getting killed? Lame...
As far as the Queen goes, I don't have any issues with people fighting her or leveling up on her, in general. I have issues with players being able to easily max out a magic school on her in a day of playing. if it took them a while, as it would with most normal PvE or PvP, I wouldn't have any issues with it at all.

I agree with you 100%, but can you max out a magic school in one day on her? I mean I'm close to getting my Fire magic to 100 now (hoping to do it this week) and it's taken a while. Sure I used the Crog as my whipping boy but in one day? That sounds way too fast and if possible then yes I agree Aventurine should do something about it.

To someone who does not play Darkfall, this does indeed sound like an exploit. It's hard to imagine that maxing out a magic skill in one day is intended. The OP said this could be done. Was that an exageration maybe?
The OP just talked about "vet knowledge" , playing a game you get knowledge about whats the best pattern, the easiest way to do certain things. Its the nature of a sandbox that there are more ways to complete a goal. If it sounded like an "exploit" then because the OP presented it like it was some "secret knowledge" not everyone knows and make it known to the wider public.

Shenanigans. Being a vet doesn't have anything to do with being able to max out a magic school in a day. It sounds like an exploit because it probably is.

Then every mob should get removed and replaced by these tiny godlike goblins who pawned anyones arse during beta by your "exploit" standards, too bad.. pretty no one agreed with that and all wanted to have mobs of any difficulty variety and pretty much whined about it.
Live with that are different mobs in Darkfall having different strengths and abilitys and weaknesses...therse mob happens to have high resists , dont move and has minions protecting it. It is unique.
If you think its an exploit report it..but to my standards exploit something requires doing a forbidden action..doing valid moves against a from the makers designed and placed mob isnt a a exploit..i just fire my spells at it and defend me against the minions..

Its called exaggeration to prove a point (I have edited the op) It took me appox 3 days (12-18hrs can't remember how long I stayed there) to level my air magic from 1-~80, while I slightly leveled other spells. As others have mentioned, it takes longer if you don't risk as much regs, I went to the spawn with appox 3k regs enough for 200 cast of ice bolts, 500 cast with ball lightening, and enough regs to fight with. The risk was less because I was there with 4-10 other people all leveling magic as well.

Yes, the mob may just sit there, being a "queen bee" type bug, but are you supposed to be able to skill up on it all day long? Doesn't seem like a good balance of risk vs. reward to me. 24hrs = 1 day. Its possible, if you have the regs, to level a single school to 100 in a day, just not praitical. It will take a normal person probably 4-5 days to do it, a power gamer could get it in 2-3 days.

The devs design and implement something and players find ways to abuse the mechanics for personal gain (in all games, that is, obviously not just Darkfall).Once an exploit is found, it's up to the developers to analyze the situation and decide how best to address it.
~Ripper

Regarding your specific examples
As far as the Queen goes, I don't have any issues with people fighting her or leveling up on her, in general. I have issues with players being able to easily max out a magic school on her in a day of playing. if it took them a while, as it would with most normal PvE or PvP, I wouldn't have any issues with it at all.
~Ripper
I agree with you 100%, but can you max out a magic school in one day on her? I mean I'm close to getting my Fire magic to 100 now (hoping to do it this week) and it's taken a while. Sure I used the Crog as my whipping boy but in one day? That sounds way too fast and if possible then yes I agree Aventurine should do something about it.

According to the OP you can.
~Ripper

I don't think it's possible to go from 1-100 in 24hrs in a magic school myself.

So either Xpiher's wrong and it's not possible to max out magic schools in a single day with this encounter or it is and you think it's perfectly acceptable?

Never done it, so i can't be sure if its even possible. Taking the word from Xpiher and assuming it is possible, someone would have to carry a ton on reagents with him thous risking a lot. Power to him if he can stay alive for such amount of time.
You can get schools on easier spots to 100 starting with the goblins spots and having a escape route to starter city towers and vault for refreshments as a plus

Sadly this

Please post evidence of this. Otherwise, it sounds like an exploit that just hasn't been fixed. On top of that, it sounds like you're specifically telling people how to exploit a mob in the game.
~Ripper
is not a exploit just a mob that is special
Prove it.
It's also contradictory to all of the efforts Aventurine has taken to remove previous "easy" ways to level up skills.

man use logic, the monster have a big resistance to magic and u try to kill the mob whit magic but u fail to kill it where is the exploit

Cosy - Xpiher already posted that this was basically a hoax. It's not possible to level up a school of magic in a single day with this encounter. As such, the point is moot.

24hrs = 1 day. Its possible, if you have the regs, to level a single school to 100 in a day, just not praitical. It will take a normal person probably 4-5 days to do it, a power gamer could get it in 2-3 days.
