Buying new laptop -

I am looking to buy a new laptop.. Not really a gaming laptop but able to run games at low setting when I am in class.. and not have it weigh alot... Basically looking for a decent laptop for around $1,000. I've been looking in asian brands like Asus slim line that is only available in asian countries and Acer timeline.. I am open to suggestion I was looking at VAIOs as well but for a good one it just seems so over price=/
