With lots of new players every day I doubt they would go to bankrupt anytime soon.
They have stated that they need a minimum of 13,000 subs to stay afloat. We will see if they get that. Don't forget that the new players you see are likely those that are there for the Open Beta and not necessarily ones that have purchased the game.

The funny thing is, that he thinks that the people that even bought into the game during the pre-order are sticking with it.
A bunch of guildmembers bought the game. None of them have any interest in it any more, and some have gotten credit card refunds. There are COUNTLESS others who have given up hope on the game and aren't bothering with it any more, because they realize as I did, that the game they were reading about is very different than the game that an amateur company that has no professional development experience is trying to deliver. MO based on what was on paper, versus what they delivered, is an absolute failure.
I don't think they will have the subs to stay afloat, but in a positiive light at least Darkfall will probably pick up a few subs because of how atrocious MO is.

13,000 subscriptions is very little for an MMO. It's about 0.1% of the North American market share and it's about one-fourth the population of several "dead" MMOs (Source: http://mmogdata.voig.com/).
If that is their break-even number, then this game probably isn't going anywhere. Just out of curiosity, do you have a source for that?

Only a few certain things in life are certain, DEATH,TAXES and HerculeSAS posting the same old same old on any MO post.
Its just relentlessly the same, doesnt running the risk of becoming a forum bore phase you in the slightest, we get you dont like MO, I dont like MO, but this agenda after the MO devs slighted you is just getting plain boring. MOVE ON, actually do some work at work instead of playing the forum vulture over a MMORPG corpse....
Or better still, make a MMORPG yourself and do better, show you got a pair and can not only talk the talk, but walk the walk...

See, I know this much -- I can't make an MMORPG as I don't have the relevant experience. I could probably be the project manager for it, given a little background though. And besides, I don't have the rich dad to get me started so there is a hitch in my plan right there. Besides, a niche sandbox PvP game is not an easy design to make PROFITABLE due to the nature of the environment and users. The frustration levels are very high, so the planning would probably take me a long time as well. Obviously in SV's case, they skipped over any planning, any training, any idea of a business plan or proper design. That's why MO is the way it is -- terrible.
As for "doing work at work" -- my boss watches me type on MMORPG. My work is driven by projects, and in a financial firm where the money isn't flowing for new projects, you're put into a 'maintenence mode' where you don't do a heck of a lot of work. The economy turns around, we get a lot more cash -- I start working again. That's how it goes. Till then I'll enjoy posting here during the day.

Heh, after awhile I started to ignore most of his posts. He seems hell bent on trying to ruin anything good this game has to offer constantly burning down threads that promote a positive manner on these boards. Im suprised the mods let him do this considering how noticeable it is.
Im glad even the ones like yourself that do not like MO see him for what he really is. If we only had a sticky with a list of names of who to ignore........if only.

I'm here to debate what people think is good about the game.
Isn't that what a discussion forum is actually for? To discuss stuff? If you want to hear only wonderful things you can go -- oh wait.... even the main MO forums are overrun with complaints about how bad the game is.
Originally posted by HerculesSAS I could be here for both -- I think it's going to be a train wreck BECAUSE the game is so terrible.
You are still on the side of thinking it's not terrible. So there is room for debate, and for my entertainment.
I'm with Herc on this one.. it's been one horrible patch after another ever since they started the closed beta. All that was keeping me there was loyalty at the end, and they decided that they should go ahead and destroy that too.
This is another Dark and Light, ladies and gentlemen.
