Hey, I have to return my motherboard, but I dont quite know how to remove the heat sync, can anyone help me, thanks a lo1

I pushed the two plastic things so that they are unlocked, but I tried pulling the heatsync up, and it wouldnt budge =

The only problem is nobody responds in the off topic forum, and I figured id have better chances getting an answer if more people knew about it.

Heatsinks are attached to the CPU by a type of bonding agnet, which is also necessary to transfer the heat between the CPU and heatsink. just try wiggling the heatsink to try and loosen it, it should pop off. If you keep having troubles, theres problem a FAQ somewhere on the internet for this sort of thing.

They have answered your question. Without seeing the motherboard and heatsink so that we can see the bracket that you didn't unhook, there is nothing we can tell you but pull harder.
Have a digital camera? post a pic of the heat sink on the mobo.

Yeah. I haven't taken apart my computer ever since I got it (several months ago) so couldn't help you unless I saw a pic of it.
