Maximum group sizes

angus858angus858 Member UncommonPosts: 381

Some real-life friends are thinking about getting together for a weekly online gaming session.  I want to pick a game that will allow everyone to be in the same group.  We used to play DAoC which was fine but it seems that more recent games are often designed for smaller groups.  Can anyone help by telling me what is the maximum group size for the following games?

1) EQ2

2) Vanguard

3) DDO

4) CO

5) STO

6) Aion

7)  Allods

Feel free to talk about your opinions on maximum group size and how it affects gameplay.  Thanks!

In EQ2 there is group content (6 people), x2 content (12), x4 content (24). I prefer to be one of many, so normally I'd prefer the x4 raids. But over all I dont like raids, so, eh... *g*

    1) EQ2 = 6, This game is probably your best bet for a group of good friends to play together.
    2) Vanguard = I played but only duoed
    3) DDO = Soloed
    4) CO = Duoed
    5) STO = Soloed
    6) Aion = Soloed
    7)  Allods = Soloed

Plus in EQ2 can have different combination of class and some can fill the non-traditional roles.

I think Vanguard was 6 (long time ago so maybe my memory plays tricks), DDO was definitely 6.

If 6 is enough then DDO might not be a bad choice as it is built primarily around group content and it's a game you can dip into without feeling you have to login everyday.
