What if Sony gave out a large number of station points per month to subscribers?

Would this make eq2 more popular?  Could it make them money, or atleast draw in more customers for when eq3 "or eq  next" or whatever is launched.  With the amount of dissatisfied mmo'ers out there, could this draw a bunch?  People like free stuff, adding the access to free station cash stuff could draw a crowd, i'm just not sure if it would be a big enough one to matter.   It could be turn out a great move in a sea of bad moves by sony.. and with the rise of free realms, make their name serious again.   You could save points for the really big expensive items and have access to all the rest.  It would reward subscribers.  It would also "level the playing field" for the non station cash buyers.

i think everquest one got it easier on that front!soe should make  all starting area for all race f2p but just in those zone cant get out of there in anyway, and not access to cave hotzone like it is currently! just where you can go without port

this would bring in people because lets face it just seing the cave doesnt really give a clue to most player

i went today in freeport ,men that city is nice compared to last time i went!

soe cant do that in everquest 2  i think but i could be wrong

to bring in people !im sorry to say eq1 as a huge lead on the eq2 .

but as for eq2 .men i dont know what they can do honestly .its a ressource hog always has been it keep majority of gamer out!

I don't think it would have any effect on anyone except those who play the TCGs or Free Realms...

From what I've heard, not many people actually buy the cash shop items for the P2P MMOs they support.

I'd see it as a marketting gimmick to get me to play bad games made by a company I have lost respect for.

Wouldn't hurt, really, although I do not believe P2P games have the right to have a cash shop in the first place. Either-or.

I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.

Doubt it.  Now if they adopted Turbine's model for DDO I think that would actually make them more money overall.  Hell of a lot more actually considering the number of levels that game has.

Of course, since SOE used the whole expansion concept with that game probably isn't feasible at this point to go that route.  Not unless they wanted to majorly piss some people off.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

I doubt free cash shop points would help. There really isn't anything there that benefits new people.

The problem with the game is the path to get caught up with everyone else to begin the MMO.

Forever looking for employment. Life is rather dull without it.
