I says the network is down for me. Any others get the same message?

    servers went KaPut i think 20 minutes ago, maybe 30 go read the Prima starting guide in the meantime :)

    A bunch of servers are down at the moment:

    Guk
    Butcherblock
    Nektulos
    Kithicor
    Blackburrow
    Befallen
    Permafrost
    Steamfont

    Hopefully they won't be down for long.  :-)

    Yeah.  Too bad I deleted the WoW beta, else I could play that in the meantime.

    On the other hand, maybe it's not such a bad thing.  ;-)  I guess I'll take your advice and read a bit of the guide.

    This sucks. Every time I get home from work I just want to play and every night it is down. Well, I guess going home in the middle of the day was justified.

    Looks like it's the Application Servers (software) that crashed on the systems since the boxes are still responding to pings.

     

    I was able to ping unrest.everquest2.com and several other "worlds".

     

    Also, for those who don't have it, here's the Server Status Page.

    this is promising, only 4 servers still down,and i can ping the down ones too :P

    A long hard day of studying with Xephmaiden wasted. We had a counter going on the board that read 02:00:00 to EQ2..

    I get home..nothing.

    I got to the login screen and it kept timing out. I'll wait a bit longer.

    Well the only thing that keeps me waiting for the servers to come back online.. is..

    EQ2 is so fooking great :) Great game great mechanincs, im not even talking about the graphics, im talking about the game system they made for it.. so bloody awesome.

    I recieved the same message with the Oasis server...

    I was only level 4 anyway. I won't get to seriously level until this weekend.

    I gotta crash though (sleep not the game), I gotta wake up at 5am to get ready for work and my classes.

    To address some intermittent problems we have experienced on our servers this evening, we will be bringing the EverQuest II English-language servers down for maintenance at 3:00 AM PST on November 11, 2004. The expected downtime is four hours, so please take the opportunity to relax and catch some sleep while the servers are down. During this time, we will be working to resolve the issues and will also perform a game update.

    We apologize for the issues you are experiencing, as well as for the upcoming downtime. Thank you for being patient and bearing with us while we experience a few growing pains. See you in Norrath after the servers are back up.

    Thanks, it took 30 min for the server status page to come up.  I was just about to post the same thing.  So, if I calculated correctly they hope to have the system back up at 10 am EST.

    Nah we are all playing atm... err.. wait... geez.. a dragon almost got me feet.. arf arf.. oh well danger away.. anyway like i was telling we are all playing atm.. but you can only play eq2 inside your room in the city inn... so thats why you dont see noeone ;)
