hmmm didnt know this....only lvl 9 atm.

Is it all 100% open world pure gankfest PvP? Or some instanced aswell? I love PvP but I hate gankfest PvP thats turns into zerg zerg gank gank gank zerg and just random stupidness. Open world can be fun at times but alot of the time it sucks if youre a solo player...

I thought it was like aion though were both factions have different zones? If not this flag that drops from mobs should probably be pretty dam rare if they want their game to last in NA....

I can't believe someone hasn't already pointed this out.

    CASH SHOP!!

When you die, you get a debuff that stack up to 4 times and can last 50 minutes.  It can be removed by buying an item from the item mall.

When you include things in game where, whether you want to or not, forces you into PVP causing one of the two parties to DIE.

Die = frustration, back tracking.  If you create a game mechanic where death is inevitable and designed into the game, and you create items that can restore your stats after a death, but only after buying it with real money, you get to see the true motives of the company.

Making money should be the goal of a successful game, but it shouldn't be their only goal.  This doesn't pass the smell test.

It's unfortunate, because I played Allods last night and really really enjoyed it.

On another note, Allods is Russian. Russia IS in the "western world" ... They aren't Korean. They are western developers, with their own unique style, aiming at a western market, whether that ends up being mostly Russian, or a spread of Russian/EU/NA.
Anyway they will probably create PvE servers. It doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to do, any there are a LOT of carebears out there that won't play any game where they can get attacked without "consent."

And alot of people that call people carebears are jerks that get off on the suffering of other people griefing and ganking low level players

hehe call me a carebear then I play mmo's for questing and adventuring if i want to pvp I'll go play a fps shooter, pvp in mmo's has never really been balanced unless you have 2 groups with equall amounts of each class in them. I would much rather be called a carebear than a griefer/ganker

You're wasting your time with Allods then.  Go play WoW PvE server or LOTR.

Seriously, all the people b*tching in this thread need to just quit Allods.  It's has a heavy PvP focus.  If you don't like it, don't play.  Some of us like faction PvP and would probably prefer that the carebears leave instead of constant whining and crying.

Chuckle... You do realize what happens when all of us CareBears leave a game?... Hint, there are a LOT more of us than there are hard core PvP types in the west.

You do realize not every MMO isnt designed around non pvpers and casuals? There are plenty of other games out there for you go play em if you dont like it, literally everytime when a casual nonpvper comes into a open world pvp MMO they whine and moan why its there... don't play em research them before installing and save your self the QQ on the forums..

Truly? I was putting a lot of effort into Allods and now that I know this I'll be quitting the game. After all the praise I've given this game it feels as if I was backstabbed; however I have nobody to blame but myself for not researching the game more before I started putting time into it. Ah well. These things happen. Goodbye, Allods. I won't miss you.

Personally, I don't mind it. It's not monsters everywhere that drop it, just in contested zones. But I'm sure that if people keep on complaining about it then they'll make a patch and get rid of it. For now, if you don't want such difficult PVP, just don't play. Or do play and stay OUT of the contested zones.

    After lvl20 they all are.

I'm uninstalling the game as I write this, really enjoyed the game, besides the nightmare of finishing quests, but open PvP is not my style of play, don't take me wrong, I love PvP but not all the time, I like leveling peacefully all the way and go to a separated zone to do my PvP when I want.

Also today the Item Shop started working and they are just out of their minds, the upgrade for the bag is $20, you can guess how expensive everything else is.

But best of luck to those that decide to keep playing this game in the long run.

Thats my read on the situation as well. That drop is just a great opportunity for gankers and griefers to get their jollies by ruining others play experience.  Believe me, if its possible to do within the game, those types will.  As for cash shops, it depends on how its set up.  But $20 for a bag upgrade?? Oh well, scratch another game off the list of possible entertainment sources.

I just quit upon reading "the upgrade for the bag is $20"

    Greedy. Greedy. Greedy.

Item shop model will never work until they realize that charging people LARGE sums for near-necessities just breeds resentment. It's supposed to be "microtransactions." $20 is not micro. $.90 is micro. Charge me $0.90 per bag for up to 4 bags. Charge me $2 for a basic mount, $4 for an uber mount, and $10 for a rare mount that is just as fast as the uber mount, but less common.

    This merits a thread!

Well, some comments on the subject from the Russian server.

The War banner doesn't allow to attack players more than 3 lvl less than the bearer of the Banner. But the bearer's assistant still can))) Don't know whether it's a bug.

Yes, there are some peace zones where you can't attack anyone, but these are not whole locations but just small areas (in fact, some camps - player bases, for example in Avilon, Koba Plato).

Yes, in fact anyone can theoretically attack you, you can't be sure of your protection even when your flag is down. BUT in fact there are only several zones where massive pvp battles go on. In practice, pvp is almost always pointless in the game and, moreover, costly. So, the major pvp battles occur in Assee Tepkh (or I don't know how you call it)  and in almost all other locations opposite fractions either : a) co-operate (Yes, that really happens)  b) try to ignore each other - most often happens c)get a War Banner and kill everybody who is surely easy to kill, or kill flagged low-levels.

PvP is fraction against fraction. You can never attack a character of your own fraction, only in special places  for fun or skill testing purposes.

As for ganking, if you're cautionous enough you may fulfil almost all quest in solo mode. In fact, you almost always have an oppurtunity to fulfil the quests where there are no gankers - that's just a practical observation. But, yes, if you decide to complete a specific quest by all means and right now - it may be impossible, but that is a rare situation (there is one quest that is very hard to complete because of pvp reasons)

  • stuxstux Member Posts: 462

    Sounds like a fun game.

Does it allow you to loot the other player?

  • ZatraxZatrax Member Posts: 20

No, player looting not allowed. PvP is really of much fun but it's costly))) you may pay either in in-game currency or in real money using the in-game shop (buying parfumes)

Performing any action on a friendly player that has their Flag of War raised..

Does this mean we will be attacked by our own faction>?-------------------------

    -------------------------------------------

Anyway regardless of carebear or pro pvper - if it is true that and I quote:

Debuffs occur from death in pvp and are stackable for up to 50 minutes.  There is however, an item in the item shop that can remedy this.

If this is true - the game is just going to fool anyone who logs in.  You can either play debuffed - good luck with that - or pay cash to get your debuffs removed.  That's a bunch of crap to force us into the item shop.

If this is true - it kills the game for me - and I love open world pvp - this however, again, if true - takes us to a point of stupidity.

  • ZatraxZatrax Member Posts: 20

Well, you're not accurate. The debuff is 50 minutes only at lvl 40.

And IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET RID OF IT USING IN-GAME MONEY.

Yes, the price increases as your lvl grows. If you pay real money, you are not only getting rid of the FoD but also you get SOME USEFUL BONUSES.

When you're 10-20lvl, you can really wait for the debuff to come out.

When you're 20-30 - it's up to you; you may wait but that's already annoying.

When you're 30+, it's really better to pay for taking FoD away (I'm paying only in-game money and I'm able to earn enough at lvl 40 to pay for it). 20 gold (for example) a day is not really a problem for lvl 40 if not saving money for a ship.

Thank you for that Zatrax - that does make a lot more sense.

However, the part where we can attack our own faction - is this true? WIll three be areas where Leage fight League Empire fight Empire?

There are arenas where you can fight your own faction, but you can't do it openly in any zone.

  • ZatraxZatrax Member Posts: 20

But you get FoD if you die in those arenas)))

Empire has its  arena  in the western surburb of Nezeb. As for League - didn't play, don't know.

There is a 'common' arena in Yazes'  Piece (Russian name), high lvl location, but it's usually empty in Ru server
