There has been an incident involving a review at GameSpot. It appears that the reviewer assigned to Global Agenda produced a review after only six hours of gameplay, which was discovered by the Global Agenda community following the publishing of a not-so-glowing review.
GameSpot's Justin Calvert confirmed gamers' suspicions and apologized on the official Global Agenda forums, stating that the review has been taken down with a new one to be forthcoming.

classic gamespot, I wished they wouldhave listened to us the countless other times this has happpened...

If Global Agenda is being reviewed as anything other than a lackluster TF2 MMOFPS, honestly, do you really need any more than 6 hours to know what the game is about?
Yes - if you review any MMO in my opinion you need 30 hours minimum of gameplay wether the game sucks or not.

I agree, I don't need mind numbing hours to tell if something is trash or not. Kind of like when meeting someone, first impressions are formed in the first 8 seconds not 30 hours.
In 6 hours you know how the game works because there isn't much to the game. I don't see a problem with this but he should have known people would be complaining.
I remember so many agree when eurogamer reviewed Darkfall while reviewer only played for few hours of gameplay majority here on mmorpg.com, still agree with eurogamer lol.
But now its high profile game not made by indie developer and , most disagree with review lol.
Hypocrits.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
If your gonna be a critic is your job to accurately review the game. Not half ass something. So no 6 hours into a game is not an accurate review. Weither your being paid for it not or doing it as a hobby. You put your credability on the line if you do or don't give an accurate review.
Guess Gamespot will have to do some PR

If your statement is true then EVE would be a horrible game even in it's current status. But look at it, it's probably the best sci-fi mmo out there. The first 8 seconds in EVE are spent reading a little tutorial box.
I am confused are you trying to say darkfall is a good game?
I agree.
No matter how bad a game may be, you still need more than 6 hours to give a fair review.
After only 6 hours, you really haven't gotten much into the meat and potatoes of a lot of games. You're essentially still dealing with learning the core mechanics of a game, and getting a feel for the world IMO.

Difference is, that doesn't equate a journalistic review. That's just a personal opinion. If this was joe-shmoe's blog site, no one would bat an eye. But, this is a gaming information portal, where the expectation of a (mostly) accurate description of the entire game should be adhered to.
This was a failed and inaccurate portrayal of what the game has to offer, as the reviewer made no real attempt to learn the games inner workings.
If he's bored and doesn't like it, welcome to the world of "work" where you don't always like what you have to do, but you have to do the best job you can regardless. 6 hours in any game. Even console ones is hardly someone's "best job".

You should'nt have to play a game 30 hours before it gets 'Fun'.
lol good luck finding 30 hours of gameplay that isnt a repeated cycle of dull short pve mission wait in lobby/dome city for the next random grouping go to next dull pve mission rinse/repeat in GA

I agree but were talking about a review here. A reviewer should have the professionalism of playing the game for a extended period of time before making it's review, 6 hours for an MMO is not long enough.

The first 5 hours in EVE are spent reading a little tutorial box.

it doesnt take 6 hours to figure out the game has an auction house,a talent tree and a a crafting system(which in my opinion if he spent more than 6 hours on that part he would probably give a worse review than what you got I mean come on you practically have to do 3 boring pve missions to get 1 rusty plate drop of which it takes 4 of to make an item that has 35 points of durability that breaks when it gets to zero [so you have to do the crafting cycle again to replace it and hope you get the same random buff you had before] all of which gets you 1 point towards the 300 needed for next lvl)
Hirez is an indie studio, hence Global agenda is an indie developed game.
6 hours is fine for most games and if he'd done Conquest too, then 6 hours would've been fine for GA as it is very light on content.
I don't think the score was fair, but he clearly focused too much on the PvE (which they should just remove it is that bad), and not enough on the PvP, which is pretty good fun.
The game is worth the box price, even if it isn't worth a subscription.
There's a difference between you playing a few hours to know if you enjoy the game and a professional reviewer playing to review it, you have to list pros and cons in a fair way, personal taste doesn't really matter. For the latter six hours is not enough, doesn't matter if it's a MMO or not, if you're paying $50 for less than six hours of content then there's a huge issue there.
Did GameSpot have an article titled "It's time for YET another Mmorpg.com review fiasco!!" when that terrible 'official' Fallen Earth review was posted here?
This article seems more on aggressive marketing than discussing how reviews for games should be conducted.
He wasnt too flashy a player either

I agree, and the original news post has been edited to read in a more appropriate manner.

Thats not the point, a reviewers job is to max the ^&*% out of a game, explore endgame mechanics and give an accurate score. Wether Global Agenda is a "good" game or not does not matter. if he spent 20-30 hours of gameplay in GA then gave a low score (maybe even lower) then I would have no problem. Gamespot (and gamespy) have been doing this for a while now.

hmmmm... but those impressions can be very wrong.
One of my greatest and dearest friends is a woman who I thought was vapid and silly and this was after working alongside her for (at the time) a week.
Turns out my first impression was very wrong.

6 Hours is more then enough time, all this game is a Multi deathmatch FPS, with a few mmorpg elements, but after a few death matches,1-3 hours? and a few walks around? 1-2 hours? getting used to it 1 hour, should be PLENTY for a review if not more then needed. Now if they were to review EVE in 6 hours, then ya sure, I wouldnt agree with the reviewer, but lets be honest, Global agenda isnt really a mmorpg, it is a FPS 10vs10 deathmatch, with Very few mmorpg elements.
