Not sure if this is a hardware thing or not. Here's my problem. I currently have 2 desktops, 1 laptop, and 1 netbook in my house. I use Verizon DSL as ISP, with the Westel Model 327W Modem-Router they provided when I originally left Comcast for them. Earlier today I bought a Canon Pixma MX860. It uses built in wireless. My thing is this. Is there away to setup a home network using the 327W Modem-Router, so that my desktops and wireless items can make use of the printer? I'll be frank, and say I don't really know that much about networking at all.
Basically what I want to do is. Leave my 2 PC's hard wired the 327W Router-Modem like they are now. But still be able to use the wireless function of the printer. I want to use the printer but I'd rather have it not wired to anything, space is already limited on my desk. The printer is just way too big. Is it possible to set up something that lets the 327W act as an access point between all my systems allowing them to send print request to the printer? Sounds confusing not really sure how to word it. I have a Linksys router somewhere around here I believe. But none of my PC's outside the laptop and netbook have a wireless card.

Should just have to log on to the network on your printer.
I just setup an Epson Wireless printer not too long ago and that's all I did. It was in Settings under Networking.

Easiest way is to hook up your printer to your main computer, then in the network settings share printers. After that its only a matter of adding the printer on your other computers.
My parents have a similar setup, with a Canon MX980. You can connect the printer to the router, either wirelessly or wired.
Just use the front panel on the printer to go into wireless settings and connect it to your router. Then install the network driver on each computer and they will see the printer on the network and you can print directly to it. Setting it up this way instead of sharing it through a computer means you don't need a host computer turned on.
right clic network icon in you botom right bar, clic on network and sharing(sorry if wording is wrong im french)
clic on local network, clic on property, there should be some small square on this page saying something like
sharing file and printer, make sure its clicked (if it isnt)
might need to restart.once that is dont if you didnt deactivate in other area your printer should work on most of your home network!
ps:normally windows is plug and play so it should detect everything automaticly (if its set-up from factory)
