     WoW's warrior class.

I once defeated this lock in epic gladiator gear even though i was wearing greens.  The battle lasted 5 minutes.

I was specced protection, a tank basically.  What I had going for me was a ton of health and some of the tank's crowd control spells.

Concussive blow, a four second stun.

Charge, get's me back in melee range with a 1 second stun.  Good for interrupts. Can't be used in combat.

Intercept, like charge but with a longer cooldown and can be used in combat.

Spell reflect, reflected back some shadow bolts.

    Shield bash, an interrupt

    Berserk, breaks fear

    Intimidating shout, a warrior's fear

Hamstring, a debuff that slows the target

I was smashing a lot of buttons, buttons that had to be smashed at the right time.

It was an epic fight.  At least for me.

Well i play mmo's that have no class ac/darkfall both skill based games with no classes.

But in darkfall i have 3 combat i pick up all 3 rather high skilled melee/archer/magic and my favorite still after year of playing is archer.

But luckely where not limited to a class so i use all 3 if needed but my bow is my favorite in combat.

    Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

I really-really like "support" classes, that are not healers. To this day, my favourite ones are Mesmer and Troub from EQII, especially with the game's "concentration" system. I specced in such a way, that I royally sucked solo, though.

I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.

    Aion

Assassin - Enough already with making rogues 90% of their best skills in stealth and just leave it as what it should be to hide/prepare a strategy.

    FFXI

Red Mage - Who doesn't like a hybrid mage/healer that even uses stronger gear then a rogue plus sword and shield?

Beastmaster - One of the hardest classes from which you have pets, hard but enjoyable and fun.

A funny moment I remember I tamed a goat that was too strong for me to fight with us in a group went afk for 5min and when I came back all party was dead killed by the goat lol

Puppetmaster - Although very expensive I enjoyed seeing lots of people running with these deadly puppets that can be customized on how you want.

But if I have to choose the most favourite I'll have to choose rogue/assassin/whatever because that's the type of class I enjoy to use, fast and deadly :D

Yep, one of the things I loved about DaoC ,, the healer/support classes kind of ran the show.

Treat your healers, speed classes, and CC'rs with respect or you're gonna be humping it on foot without a group a lot. Sad to say, games seem to have gone away from the Vital support roles other than heals put on support toons.

I liked the style, lore, and in-game abilities of WAR's Witch Hunter. Trenchcoats have so much panache.

Had fun with both Controllers (Illusion) and Stalkers in CoX, moreso than the other classes (Doms had their cool, though).

Burglars in LOTRO had so many escape, utility, and crit abilities they seemed ridiculously strong to me. Lots of fun with that while it lasted.

My fav. class is EvE. I can be whatever I want whenever I want.

Smuggler from SWG, could craft drugs,  slice/hack weapons, armor, and mission terminals, and you had impressive combat skills such as feign death and a low blow to the crotch for the knockdown. Not much more I could want

I'll always remember the good time i had in DAOC. My druid was more than fantastic it was perfect to ruin a pvp fight. When you know how to use your power its a beast. And my lil Thid twink, haa the nightshade. I pass a lot of time killing mid and alb in thid and picking up a kill on a bridge and than jump into the water. I had so much fun.

What a good and tough question.

I always miss my Everquest 1 halfling rogue.

    DAOC my Bard

    WAR I miss my Ironbreaker.

sorry all three were a blast to play in there time.

For me I would have to say Eq1 Necromancer hands down one of the most powerful classes I have seen in any MMO to date.  They were a true one man army.  Have a very strong pet, a string of dots so powerful you could pull aggro from any would be tank if you wanted.  Roots, snares, nukes, the ability to heal others your pet or life tap to heal yourself.  Feign Death your get out of jail free card,  the ever coveted corpse summons and the second best rez in the game.  And lets not forget they also had the highest mana regen in game, and they could also become a raids savior with the ability to feed mana to the raids healers with ease while still regenning so much back they could continue to cast their own spells while feeding clerics mana to heal.

DAOC - Champion. There's nothing as satisfying as being able to drop a magic spell that debuffs the crap out of your enemy and swing a sword at them which cuts them down. :3

    Ahh an excellent question.

I think my favorite class out of all MMOs I've played has to be the EQ 1 bard. Jack of all trades master of none...... except speed and carpal tunnel syndrome from twisting 4+ songs up.

With UO ish type style would have to be the days of the Tank Mage.

I liked Vanguards take on bards as well. As well as thier rogue. All the chain combat was fun.

I prefer classless characters over actual classes.

If I had to pick one class i had the most fun with in any MMO it would probably be the nano-mage in anarchy online.

Trader - Anarchy Online, Was my main and played with it for 2-3 years. The class it class rules at low level is totally broken and doesn't have a porpose after level 170ish. Even so what I liked about it was the simple concept: Drain skills from your enemies and give it back with your Shotgun.

    Wizard in EQ

Wizards where prepared with the best nukes, could snare and root and most importantly quad kite!

The ultimate Crowd Control class....Enchanters in EQ1!! I always liked the CC classes and the Enhanters were the best ones.

  • CymTyrCymTyr Member Posts: 166

My favorite class in an mmo would be the champion from lotro. When you dual wield, he's like a rogue with heavy armor. When you use a 2hander, he's like this brutal attacker that just smacks your face off.

Good times in lotro lvling mine up...

Personally, I love a certain class or 2 from every MMO I've played. But I usually follow the same archetype. DPS first followed by a hybrid/debuffer/buffer.

Vanguard: Druid and Blood Mage, although to be fair I find all Vanguard classes well thought out.

WoW: Mage, Death Knight and Warlock

Warhammer: Shadow Warrior and Disciple of Khaine

    EQ2: Dirge/Troubador and Warlock

LOTRO: Minstrel, Hunter, Burglar, and Loremaster

    AoC: Necromancer

I've always like utility classes more than any thing else.  They're much more about awareness and reaction, rather than dps or healing.

Light spec Eldrich from DAOC is still my favorite.  That was a really versitile CC/utility class.  It's too bad, you don't see CC or utility classes like that any more. Now it's more about limited CC and boring, ambiguous debuffs.

My Darkfall character, no class, just my playstyle.

Teras Kasi master from SWG easily had some of the coolest animations for skills I've ever seen in any game... of course, this is pre-cu/NGE, so unfortunately nobody will ever experience the awesomeness of those combat animations. But to be honest, my REAL favorite combination was a skill mapping of my own creation- combining the bonuses of several different skill trees to amplify my ability to melee. It was awesome. Mastery in two handed swords, then dabbling in different branches of the other mellee classes, just to add small melee buffs like knockdowns, or meditation.

Other then that, Paladin in WoW. They really redefined the class to make it viable for something other then tanking/healing. Nevermind the fact that Paladins are OP in WoW, I just like that they digressed from the usual autoattack/healing.
