edit: but back on topic. EVE is very enjoyable but you have to take deep breaths and think "okay, I just bought an expensive ship, put my best equipment on it, didn't insure it, and flew it into a gate camp. Did I really not see this coming?"

LOL, we've all had those moments, in my case, many more than one. One of the best was seeing a great deal on a BS somewhere, so I bought it, then flew it back to my home system on auto pilot to outfit it. (completely forgetting that my autopilot settings were still on "fly shorter" instead of "fly safer".
Came back in about 15 minutes to the wreckage of my pod wondering, "what the hell am I doing in Rancer?"
Just trying to live long enough to play a new, released MMORPG, playing New Worlds atm

STO space combat is more reflex based. EVE combat is more like Star Trek TNG combat on television. Using tactics, having better intel and having the better ship means you win. Very little reflexes involved.
