Why there can be no going back for this game.

There is little point to "waiting it out" and hoping they will "change their ways" or "make up for it. The damage is done, because this is far more than a problem with game mechanics.

This is a community problem. The problem here isn't that something isn't working right, or that something is broken. The problem is that the choices made are an insult to the community as a whole. They're an insult to our intelligence and a blatant sign of disrespect. Either someone at Gpotato or NV (or both) decided that we would be stupid enough to let ourselves get bent over and have our pockets rung out for them, or someone making major decisions for the game actually believed that the changes being made and the prices put before us were reasonable.

Either way, how can they fix that? How can they make amends for that? Push some copy on their community managers and tweet "Sorry, our bad"? Even if things do change, how can we trust them to make changes to the game, that this won't happen again, if there are people in charge who in their hearts feel that screwing us over was the right decision?

This kind of damage can't be patched away. I fear there is very little they can do to reverse what has been done.
