ok in the bios i have a setting that is called tref in the memory timer i didnt OC anything

but set those number :first i set it to 2T

the second is called TREF i set it at 3.9 ms ,i dont know exactly what durability i get by lowering it from 7.8 ms to 3.9

but since this is an asus motherboard and everything is not OC  i think this should last at least 5 year

any know how much years of life i cut from my computer by setting it like this!

i dont really care since the most important thing is its insane for my online need but i was just curious!

You might of also seen a 15.6usec setting too?

The lower the TREF (otherwise known as refresh period), the more stable and somewhat slower the ram will run, in turn potentially aiding any CPU overlocking you do.

Performance can differ based on RAM speed and CPU speed and whether linked, and what ratio like 1:1 etc.

Sure tinker with it, I would run memtest before and after setting to check thoroughput. Otherwise if you don't OC then best to keep at auto setting. If you do OC then it would be the last adjustment I would touch as it crosses off another potential issue for failed OC.

It won't bugger your PC up just your RAM if it goes wrong. Run some RAM intensive programs/games multiple openings to stress usuage and look for BSOD.
