Item shop prices are overpriced, what is gPotato doing about this?
As we mentioned in our official statement last week, the Allods team is well aware of the situation. We can’t apologize enough for the stir and shock it’s caused within the community and the lack of communication we had beforehand with not evolving you, the players, in our decision making process.
We want to make clear that this is something we are not taking lightly. We are not sitting and waiting just to see how many dollars we’re going to make over the next four weeks. It is very clear to us that players are already disgruntled with the situation and we are actively working on new pricing options to accommodate the masses. However, we ask the Allods community to please be patient with the situation! Adjustments like this cannot happen overnight. That’s why we continually encourage everyone to submit constructive feedback to us regarding your opinion about both the game and the item shop. In fact, we started a forum thread that we will be checking on an hourly basis here.
The Allods team works hard on this game and loves it just as much as many of you do. When we see a problem we want to address it and take the most appropriate actions that make sense for both the players and the game. With that said, we encourage everyone to voice your opinion, even if it’s about something you absolutely hate, just please do so in a constructive manner.
Thank you everyone for your continued support! As we’ve said many times, the Allods fans are some of the best gamers in the world – we really appreciate that!
At this point my trsut in the company has been severely damaged, but maybe you guys think otherwise.

How exactly do you evolve players in a decision making process? Sorry, I'm a stickler for typos like that in official announcements.
On another note, from what I've read about this game, the original dev team has been unaffiliated with the game for some time now, since Russian Closed Beta, and the current team, as a result, isn't as well equipped to handle the game, at least for now. It looks like it has some promise so I hope things work out for it, but things don't seem to be looking so great.
Not to mention that they also are saying that the rumor about the original development team jumping ship is not true...
"Over the last several days, the Allods team has been spending a lot of time listening to player feedback. We’ve noticed that two of the biggest topics this weekend have been regarding rumors of Astrum Nival remaining as the developers for Allods and what our future plans are for the item shop. We wanted to take a moment to address these topics and clear up some of the general questions many of you may have.
The original Astrum Nival developers are no longer involved in Allods!
False!
The original development team for Allods Online is still 100% involved in developing Allods.
To provide everyone insight on the situation let’s take a trip down memory lane. The developers for Allods Online were originally known as Nival Online. On July 6th, 2009 Nival Online merged with Astrum Online Entertainment and became what most people know them as, Astrum Nival. Then on December 1st, 2009, Mail.ru merged with Astrum Online Entertainment. Astrum Online Entertainment operates Astrum Nival, the development studio which developed our beloved game, Allods Online.
In any case, the original developers are intact – they just have a new company name. The original vision of Allods Online is still being followed by the developers. Allods Online is in great hands and is being actively developed!"
Who the heck knows? I'll tell you one thing though regardless of what is true or not true, if they don't make some pretty drastic changes to FoD at least, and drop those cash shop prices by a lot, no amount of begging or rumor squashing on their part is going to bring players back to Allods. Coddling words and empty promises to keep an eye on things is just not going to cut it.

Exactly.
I can tell you right now, that at least some of the developers have left. Chief of them - Sergey Orlovsky, the Director of Nival Entertainment (who now leads Nival Network). While officialy he left in December (and started working on another project during the last Autumn, can't find the exact date) it's a common knowledge on RU forums, that he stopped working on Allods Online sometime after the merge with Astrum.
I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.
I'm not buying it cause there have already been developer interviews over on some Russian websites stating that he left because he didn't like the way the company's focus was heading for just profit over quality direction, i can believe that the core team minus the LEAD developer is there but when you take him out of the picture all they really do is place some greedy SOB there who is happy to be a yes man for the paycheck. This is another we know we screwed you guys but just give us 4 week's until we can squeeze as much money out of the sucker's i mean generous players we can, so hang in there and we although will keep the need for you to use these items probably will drop the price down to something reasonable. LOL it's like they are treating the CS like a pre-order get it while its hot and new and when there aren't anymore buyers then lower the price so that everyone can gain admittance.
I think if they were sincere they would have fixed this problem and made a statement right away, in stead they try to come of as ooooh we are working very hard to resolve this small issue, and this is not something that can be done overnight. The hell it isn't, a big smokescreen to make them look better. I find it very hard to trust them.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Seconded.
So they understand players concerns but leaves the shop opened in the mean time cause prices cant be changed overnight ? I mean if the shop is such a concern close it up until you find a solution, i dunno but changing the price of an item in a virtual shop is not something that should requires hours or days to do....
with the rally cry against RMT i am surprised people aren't happy over them overpricing goods. that means less people will buy them.
i'm confused as to why the hate.
the Evil Raider that outgears you and makes you cry for welfare epics on the forums.
gpotato - a bunch of goons over in Korea who think Americans are fat, stupid and flush with cash
Why is it all asian cash shop prices are ridiculous?
They also completely avoided talking about the latest patch with the 2 hour FoD and FoD now also being applied when you are rezzed by another player, which essentially makes even speccing into rezzes worthless.

The cash shop is only one of the small reasons people are upset. The Fear of Death is the second.
FoD is probably actually number one being that the biggest problem in the cash shop is the perfume. they remove teh FoD the game will be worth playing even if everything else in the cash shop stays the same price

Agreed. The Fear of death and the FFA style PvP is why I quit. The Cash shop really doesn't bother me.
And by worth playing you mean not paying a dime, ever. Thats certainly good for players. But I wouldn't even bother launching a game with such IS.
They made a thread yesterday to funnel all of our "constructive feedback" into...

Sorry it took so long my Russian friend wasn't responding (Home SIck).
i don't get how this is taking them so long....nerf the FoD and lower the item shop prices. doesn't seem that hard. they should know how many people love the game, if they lower the prices, alot of players will come back and most likely spend money on the game. but nooooo lets keep the high prices so we can rip off the 20% of players that actually kept playing. we only lost MOST of our players....
I'm confused why they need a feedback thread to figure out peoples opinion. I don't even play the game and I know exactly why people are pissed. Seems like a bullshit PR move to milk extravagant prices and keep their ship from sinking while they do it.
