Okay... Just curious on what my settings and performance might be...

Hey, I know that there are a lot of posts similar to this, but I am just curious for opinions for those of you that have played EQ2 and know what kinda system you have and how other set-ups might perform...

I am still waiting on getting paid Saturday to buy EQ2.  Right now, I have a P4 3.0 Ghz w/ HT  (800 Mhz Bus) with 512 DDR ram.  I also have a Radeon 9200SE agp slot video card.  How would this perform do you think and what kinda setting would I have to play smoothly?

But as I speak I am waiting on Ebay orders for another stick of 512 ram to make my memory a full Gig (I have 4 ram slots on my motherboard) and also have a Geforce 6800 card coming.  Note that it isn't the 6800 GL or 6800 Ultra.  It's simply a 6800.  I bought the 6800 for $279 on Ebay as opposed to spending atleast another $100 for a G or Ultra version of the card.  Now with these two added, what will my performance be like and what will the difference be from what I have before these orders arrive? 

Also note that I have a stable cable 1.5 internet connection.

    With the upgrades high quality should be fine.

    it really depends whether its a 6800 256mb or 128mb, there is two versions.i would have to go with medium or high quality settings, maybe turn a few things off that you don't want and turn others you like up. what i would recommend that you do is this, download fraps http://www.fraps.com and put all the settings at lowest then tweak each thing until you get the desired frames. (note: the 9200se you have right now is going to suck hardcore, i would just wait till the stuff comes in to play it or its guaranteed to piss you off)

    It's a 6800 128 mb card.  Did I get ripped paying $279 for it?  I really spent more then I wanted, but certainly couldnt see spending $400+ on a video card like the 6800G or Ultra. 

    Yes, the 9200se is gonna suck.  Heh.   That's kinda what I was thinking too.  Thanks for your advice.
