cyberpowerpc.com .  It is a very good and popular site for high end affordable PC gaming computers.  Got one off of it for $875 and it can run Crysis Warhead maxed out...

If you wanna run WoW, just search around for the cheapest gaming rig you can find. WoW doesn't need a high end computer.

ibuypower, the one the guy linked above, dell, toshiba, blah blah blah

For $1000 on NewEgg you can get a laptop that will run 4 clients of WoW fully maxed out at probably over 60fps.

Pretty much any computer that has at least 2gb RAM, and at least a 256mb DEDICATED (nvidia GTX 260, nvidia 9800 GTX, nvidia 8800, ATI HD 4000 series, blah blah blah) video card.

It's fine. I'd suggest these tweaks though, I bolded the ones you really should consider:

GPU: Definitely get the GTS 250 512MB for $4 more than the 9800GT 1GB you have selected. The GTS 250 is a lot faster, and there is no difference between 512MB and 1GB for cards at that performance level.

Memory: Since the step from 2GB to 4GB is only like $39 more I'd go ahead and do that. You won't regret it.

CPU: If this is specifically for WoW the Athlon II X2 550 for $0 more would run it a little faster. It's clocked higher but has only 2 cores, WoW won't make good use of the 4 cores of the X4 630 (but it will still run just fine so this isn't a big deal)

Cooling: If you aren't going to OC it you *could* switch from the liquid cooling to the stock fan if you really need to save -$20. I'm not a fan of liquid cooling unless it's really high end so I would personally switch to air regardless but not a big deal.

you should listen to noquarter on that.

I built a rig on ibuypower.com with about the same specs he listed, and it came out to like $650. Of course I didn't buy it I was just messing around because of this thread, but it was a pretty damn good deal, imho. You should check out that site, I've heard good things from them.

That's much better. You're not giving us any prices, which is most important if you're looking for the most performance for your money.

Still no good lol. CPU is very powerful, more than WoW needs, while the graphics card is anemic, even WoW would need a lot of stuff set to low on that and I'm sure you want to be able to play on high.

I don't actually see anything on Walmart or Bestbuy's sites that is even close to being a good deal or properly built budget gaming PC. Maybe if you bought the Athlon II 3.0GHz from Best Buy and bought a video card to add in, but the price they charge for video cards in those stores is ridiculous.

Also, do you have a monitor already, and what resolution is it?

What if he's getting it for like $300?

That's pretty good for $300. lol

He still just needs to go to iBuyPower. Anything from Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. etc. is probably not going to be worth the money.
