A few of my friends and I are thinking of getting into EQ2. We have a few questions first, though.
I hear that many people were commonly needed in the original EQ, but that many things were changed in 2. Would this game be enjoyable by 2 or 3 people? By enjoyable I'm not asking if we could simply 'get by' but could we actually move along at an enjoyable pace and do some, not all, of the more involved content? I like to raid seldomly, but prefer to play with my close friends most of the time.
How is the game's economy? I don't mean like tradeskills, but like...hmm. Does the game make it so that you constantly have to pinch every copper you get to stay on top, or is there room here and there to buy something on a whim? I like to be able to binge every so often.
While we're on economy/tradeskills, I hear that making items is a long, tedious task that requires sub-items to make sub-items for your main item. How does this work? And can you support yourself with your trades as you go?
I've seen a lot of interesting little things regarding races, but have a couple of questions. Are classes and alignments forced on certain races? Or can you freely pick to be an evil gnomish warrior if you want?
Thats it. Sorry if I'm repeating month old questions. I've been trying to get the EQ main site to load all day and it just isn't working for me. Thanks!

Some very good info can be found at these sites! Sorry I can't say more...work is busy today
But real quick IMO 3 or 4 players of diff type would compliment each other and I'd think you could move through the quests fairly well. At some point that might change but I'm not sure what lvl or area.
Just make sure 1 char can buff/heal

Last night I grouped with 3 other people, I was the highest level at 11. We had very few problems taking on level 16 mobs. As for money, it's not too hard to come by, but you won't be swimming in it either
