I just started my trial, downloaded the full game which took a little under 6 hrs for me, what version is it? Is Mines of Moria the newest version? I see it for $9.99 on amazon.com
I like LOTR better than EQ2 so far so I might want to get the expansion which I think comes with free 30 days?

Welcome to Lord of the Rings Online,
LOTRO has the folloiwing packages:
Shawdow of Angmar (SoA) is the game in it's original state
Mines of Moria (MoM) is the first expansion, you can buy the two together with a package deal at the moment.
Since a short while we have Sieges of Mirkwood (SoM), this is the latest Xpac wich is only available trough download.
Since you are a starting player you dont need SoM as it doesn't include a new race or class just new content. Go for the SoA and MoM package, if you enjoy yourself buy SoM as it has some nice high level content.
Have fun!
Where do I get the SoM download??
I'm a bit confused, is the full game download the original version or Mines of Moria? I'm assuming it's just the original. I'm scratching my head here. Ok, on my desktop where I downloaded it, it says siege of mirkwood set up.
You have probably just downloaded the original game.
Try installing it,. If you can pick Warden and Runekeeper you have MoM, I dont think you have SoM at this moment for 9.99
The trial says SOA and MoM, I can pick runekeeper and warden. All I have to do is buy the SoM but will wait on that until I have played more.
Thanks
The download is the full complete version of everything. What you are subscribed to (Original, MoM, or SoM, or trial) is what locks out a certain portion of the game to you, but even if you aren't subscribed to the full thing it is still all on your computer.
Having said that, if you're on the trial you have access to both SoA and MoM content. This is why you can't go from having a trial account to upgrading to just the original SoA, you'd have to upgrade to at least MoM. If you only want to play the original SoA you'd have to start a new account using an SoA box (making sure not to create a new trial account).
