AstonarthAstonarth Member Posts: 6

Hello all!  Im going to upgrade my computer, and I want to buy a new graphic card to it.

I have a folk that sells graphic cards, and he offered me a nvidia 230 gt or something like that is called, for 100$  more or less

So my question is,the card costs that price? And it will work good for a game like Aion for example??

:)

Well, on Newegg a new nvidia GT 240 goes for around $90, I don't think you can buy a GT 230 retail but I would price it around $75 new, and a GT 220 is about $55. I wouldn't buy the GT230 though, for $100 you can get a Radeon 4850 which will blow that card away.

You should find out for sure if the number is 230 gt though.

Yes, I would advise anyone purchasing a new GPU to buy one of the new ATI 5000 series over a similarly priced nVidia. I use a 5770 myself and it's the best card I've had and there have been no issues at all with it.

Yea, the Radeon 5750 is basically the same speed as the Radeon 4850 but has more features and uses a lot less power, it's a good card and would probably make up the difference in cost just in power savings.
