Hi Oakstead, i think i used to be in your clan a long time ago during Vanguard launch on the RP server they had at the time.
Will you be playing Xsyon? if so i hope to see you there.
(can't remember my full name but i was a martail arts dude with dragonpalm as my second name.)
Hi Aramanu!
I vaguely remember the dragonpalm name. It has been a while and unfortunately I lost a lot of guild information when our website was lost as it was being ported to another server. It was a free account donated by a guild member and because it was outside their normal system we lost everything.
Anyway, Yes I am playing Xsyon and just started up a new guild called Ancient Embers. I am in the beta and have seen them fix potentially game-breaking bugs so I have confidence this developer team can deliver the goods. So I hope to see you there also. As always, we need good PvPers.
Hm. I must confess I'm hesitantly ... giddy. The first time since many many years of MMOs now.
The modelling and texturing of mobs and armor and such look surprisingly (sorry) amateurish in my opinion on the shots. I mean ...
???
And joomla 1.5 as cms system? Look at the source of the page I mean.
But the feature list sounds so outstanding PLUS a lot of thought how to regulate rampant PvP and stealing compared to MO ... Terrain interaction. Replanting trees. It sounds like a mix of atitd with UO and Wurm and some other small MMOs I've had the pleasure to try which were too little funded to make it but were incredible innovative nevertheless.
Interaction with the environment finally? I'm watching that careful.
Played: Pretty much any fantasy MMO, some did not even make it to release ... Favorites: UO, EQ2, Vanguard, Wurm Online, Salem, ESO, Creativerse Playing: ESO, Creativerse, Guild Wars 2 Anticipating: (sigh) ... maybe Ashes of Creation

Virtus is not a developer but is the lead forum moderator and a friend of the lead developer. Since he is able to talk to the lead dev he often has some nice information.
Interesting game from what I read, however I dont see why a monthly fee. Given the current state of the graphics, I dont think a monthly fee is appropriate. Make it free to play, with buying the client. Similar to what Alganon is doing.

2 reasons, Graphics does not = quality. And do you have any clue how much tougher its going to be to keep a game with all those features (terraforming, civilization building, etc) running, let alone running properly on an MMO? Way more than it takes to run an MMO with 1/4 of the features and better graphics like other games, especially for an Indie company. Id much rathe rpay $15 a month for an amazing gameplay experience full of features that are missing from 99% of games, than pay $15 a month for a half assed game thats just pretty to look at.
Good points, however given the current state of the economy, the current state of the game industry, and the number of competitors (including Black Prophecy, Alganon and others), my opinion is graphics will count for a lot. And having a subscription for such poor graphic game? Not so sure that will work in anyway, shape or form.

I'm sorry but .. how the hell are Black Phophecy and Alganon even remotely similar to Xsyon?

Joomla is merely a stop gap.

This said, in looking further in the screenshots, the graphics dont look too bad.
Will have to see in game.
Any free trial before buying?
Don't expect a trial until after Prelude is over, probably after the summer.

I stopped reading once you compared those.
