I've been game hopping for the past few years. Didn't start out that way. I played AC for 4 years and CoH on and off for 2 years, but since then I haven't played any MMO longer than a month. I don't have any gamer friends anymore, so it's difficult to enjoy a game for very long, and I've gotten too old and grumpy to make friends in game.
Changing games frequently is one symptom of burn out.
If you are burned out on MMOs, quit for a time. The longer you quit the better.
This doesnt help.
Burn out does happen but I think the genre is not offering anything for older players to come back. And I do not mean MMOs like the old ones, just MMOs that are different.
MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.
