What do I do if I dont know what kind of video card I have?

So I pulled one of my old PC's out of storage to use while my laptop is in for repairs. I reformatted and everything is ready to go except for the computer isn't recognizing the video card. I know it is an ATI card so I went over to their site to get the newest drivers, only to realize I don't remember which model it is. I know it is one of the X### cards but cant recall the number.

What should I do? Thanks : )

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

Google GPU-Z and download it, might be able to tell you which card you have :) or in what ati x series it is

does windows work? have you tried start > run > dxdiag, then going to the display tab?

Thanks for the quick response, but it looks like gpu-z uses whatever name is seen by my operating system, which in this case is just "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)".

I think I got it, I put in a bunch of the information from gpu-z into google and a bunch of results for the x700 came up.

    Thanks!

so open it up and look at the card?  Should be fairly obvious at that point.  I'm actually kinda suprised GPU-Z doesn't work, almost makes me think you're trolling.

EDIT disregard apparently GPU-Z did work :P he posted while I was writing this.

Speccy from Piriform works really well and is a little easier to read. It's free too : )
