Having no WASD controls is a deal breaker for me.

I would have gone with point and click five years ago but I have moved on and so should the games.

I also found it sluggish that it takes about half a second for my avatar to begin moving to where I clicked.

And why right-clicking to move?

In every game, yes EVERY game you left-click to move.

I just found it awkward and I will be uninstalling the game as soon as I have finished typing this.

WSAD bothers me too, but it works for this game.  That hateful feeling goes away after a few hours in game.

Beta test is ok. Lack of people though but I guess it's closed beta. Probly play it for a month as a game to play til the next one comes along. Other than that, don't really see me playing it long term.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

This type of game / camera movement, doesn't really work with WASD controls.

I haven't played, but this game's POV is kind of like Diablo 2 right?  Where you're looking at the character from above rather than behind?

If it's that sort of POV, point & click does make more sense than WASD controls, however having the option is always nice.

I suppose so. I like the point and click in a Warcraft or Starcraft setting, not a game like this though. I didn't like Diablo all that much anyway. :-)

I didn't state it as a fact. I stated it as my opinion. Besides, point and click games are horrible. They take away some of the freedoms that you get from WASD games. It looks just like a Super Nintendo game. Would you have loved to have a mouse to navigate say.....Secret of Mana?

WASD keys are supposed to make the character you are controlling move forward when you press W and backward when you press A. When pressing S, D they either make your character strafe-move or rotate the camera, depending on the game.

Mytheon's camera is bird's eye view that is not even locked behind the character. This means you see your character from an ancle most of the time. With such a view there is no point into commanding your character moving forward towards the imaginary line that passes vertically through his body, cause such a movement's is hardly predictable. Also the camera is kinda zoomed out. Take a look at this screenshot:

I am not sure which of the 3 humans is the player's character but notice how all three of them are positioned under an angle towards the camera. Would you really like moving any of these three characters forward with WASD controls? I don't think so. Under such a view what you want is to point out where you want your character to end up going (ie mouse clicking), not control how he would manage that by using a directional system that is centered completely different than your camera.

I still prefer WASD. It is possible with games like this. I've used it with one before, can't remember what it was, but it's definitely possible and much more convenient.

All you have to do is layout the WASD diagonally. "W" would move the character to the top left, "A" would move the character to the bottom left, "WA" would move the character to the left and so on. I prefer it because you can use the keys to move and use the mouse for other things. I just tried playing a game that was point and click yesterday. I couldn't stand it for more than 15 minutes. It makes games seem very basic and limiting in what you can do. I just don't like point and click.

Deal breaker for me as well, only game i found it acceptable was SOTNW, simply because so many letter keys were involved with controlling 3 characters at once. Unless i see a situation with this game where you have to control so many other things that point and click is absolutely necessary than i will not play this game unless when its released it get phenominal reviews and ratings, so not even gonna apply to beta.

Same. Logged in found out I had to click to move, signed out, and uninstalled.

Did this kind of movement all the time in Loki and Sacred 2.  Prefer it to the point where I can barely touch other point and click games anymore.

Right! They have gotten easier and less complex. WASD just means a game is easy to play. Games that don't use WASP provide far more complex and complete game play. Some people just aren't into that.

Actually WASD is more complex than point and click.

There's nothing wrong with point in click in general (namely the Diablo series) but these guys just didn't do it right. Nevermind the fact its on the wrong button (and you can't change it!) but I found it sluggish.. thinking I clicked on a mob then end up walking right through them etc. I played for a good couple hours and its just got too annoying to continue.

Thanks for starting this thread.    I can't mouse for hours at a time without my back flairing up, but I can use all keyboard or a keyboard/mouse combo pain free much much longer.   I only play MMOs where I can use WASD.   Now I won't bother with this game.   Thanks for saving my time!
