LOL Popkornn was quite the fanbot as recently as a few days ago. UncleRomulus seemed pretty mellow...I can't believe he did something to earn the banhammer.
Craptic is really cutting their own throat and they can't fail soon enough. Funcom and SOE should send them gift baskets.
Wow, it really doesn't look good when every fifth user who's posted in a thread has "Banned" under their name.
Aunt remus just got banned. LOL this is comical. I never watched a multi million dollar company go down the road this fast before.
What was UncleRomulus banned for? They banned his new account pretty fast, too.
It's disappointing. This sorry misrepresentation of a mmorpg has done more to anger many for the sham that was launched then anything. Unfortunately, I think it was the wrong development team and publisher.
For critiizing the game and then the mods for deleting his critizism. This company blows and i hope they die quickly. Maybe it will send a message to other company's thinking about engaging in shady behavior.

I think they're regretting letting you keep your extra trial time if you cancel early. popkorn has been trolling pretty much since day one. I don't know why he didnt get banned before now.
Uncle Romulus had pretty much been one of the most politically correct on the forums over there with regards to his criticism. But now we've got Aunt Remus to take over. at least for the time being.

Aunt Remus only lasted about 45 min's before the ban hammer smacked her.

These people are being banned for being jerks.
One can be negative without resorting to name calling, general insults and trolling.

The context is those banned were being jerks, so they got what they deserved.
TO bad those who act like jerks in defense of negative opinions of the developers do not face the same justice as those they oppose.
The posts triggering the bannings are being so because of the way they focus the negativty.
One can be negative without resorting to trolling or insulting people or the company. It works both ways, so agree those insulting people in defence should also be banned. However, these people were banned for a valid reason.
sounds like someone used naughty language enough times to get banned then ran to mmorpg.com to cry about it.
as for the STO forums, pretty mild for a new mmo release imho, both in terms of posts and moderation. i've seen people get away with some stuff i wouldn't let pass if i were a mod.
i see i quit posts and criticsm posts posted every day and not get closed.

A lot of the threads on STO forums don't look that much worse than what we saw during the Champions launch, but the proportion of banned posters seems much higher. I wonder if it is Phoxe personally, or whether it is a calculated strategy that Cryptic is using, that they felt they should have had more bans at the CO launch? And congrats on enjoying STO more than you enjoyed CO, Die_Scream, I'm glad that worked out.
Cryptic is trying a Customer Development approach to MMO creation.
Thats what gets some even more upset because they are not. I have seen many well spoken criticisms of the game flamed to no end by the ardent game supporters without one bit of moderation taken to remove the flames and trolls from those threads.
I think its because forum mods are just sick of the hate against ALL MMOs these days. There's even a sticking on this very website about them increasing moderation.
