    • They fly away.
    • Doll effect.
    • They don't attack.
    • They slide away.
    • They are stuck 3m over the ground.
    • They can't see more then 1m or less.
    • They drop loot that is crap.
    • They all look the same.
    • They die after 1 sec.
    • They don't have any AI.

Most of those are all by far and away the exception, not the rule in my experience, some of them are opinion, and the fact that they don't drop equipment loot is by design.

Fuggo I have to wonder why if you have stopped playing FE and hold it in such low regard you continue to voice your negative opinions about the game? Stop wasting your time with something you dislike and move on to something that you do enjoy... At some point coming back into the FE forums and endlessly voicing your negative opinions about a game you no longer play will be seen as trolling. At the very least right now it's pointless, and borderline. If you are voicing your negative opinions about the game ostensibly to try and see that it is improved then the best way that you can do that is voice them on the official forums and by submitting bug reports. Posting them here over and over again is not going to change anything at all, and is just a waste of time...

Dark, we all know this pattern.... check my comment in another topic.

    Sad, but typical!

The main things that struck me were when attacking a mob with ranged weapons, the target would take several hits before it realised it was being hit.  They also never seem to try and run if they are outclassed or are nearing death and they just stand there, fighting until they die.  Sentient mobs should make more use of cover when using ranged weapons, as the ones I encountered just stood in plain sight when they returned fire.

Lastly, if I'm killing a human mob and another member of the gang literally brushes past us, I don't expect sentient mobs in games these days to just carry on meandering past as if nothing is happening right in front of his/her eyes. At least let the passer-by show SOME reaction, even if it's just backing off in fear before fleeing. The old "aggro effect" thing is so very, very old now.

Mob behaviour like that shouldn't be acceptable in a brand-new MMO, but maybe playing single-player post-holocaust games such as Stalker has led me to expect more.

Not saying the AI is good as it is, but I doubt you can name any MMORPG where it's even slightly better, or different.

When I hit someone with ranged, they realize it within 1sec, and need only 1 shot. If it takes more, it's more than likely a lag issue. Also, some mob do react in "groups", meaning if I shoot one, the next 1-2-3 around him (within a set aggro circle) will also attack me. Not with every type of group, but happened to me several times.

Again - not saying AI is perfect in FE, far from it. It's just not worse than in any other MMO. I don't think that today it is realistic to expect single-player game level AI from any MMO.

I suppose my disappointment in the AI stems from the sad fact that FE still uses the "aggro zone" mechanism I first saw over a decade ago.  You're right in that I couldn't name a game that doesn't use the "either fight mindlessly to the death or ignore you totally" kind of AI, but for a game that has just been released and is so innovative in other things, I feel this lets the game down.

The AI of mobs in single-player games has come on in leaps and bounds from single-player games of a decade ago, and I was hoping (probably unreasonably, I would concede) FE would be the MMO that did likewise.  It's about time someone came up with mobs that don't simply fight or ignore you.  As in the Stalker and Far Cry games, I want mobs to seem more than just robotic placeholders, and I guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

Even so, though I wouldn't give FE two thumbs-up, it definitely rates a thumbs-up.

Dont those games use 'aggro zone' as well? I think they do.

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
