I would say it's exploring too much with too little ram

heck, even I get lag by the temple of war if I've been on for around 7 hours and haven't restarted

    it's the ramimage

because once I restart, the lag is completley gone, not a trace!

i heard EQ2 had a memory leak so if that is it, then it is definately the RAM just restart every few hours and keep your settings at a comfortable level and you shouldnt see too much. they will fix it over time.

That is confirmed. When I stay on for more than an hour the leakage is obvious and I need to restart the game. Hopfully the devs understand that this problem is quite annoying and fix it within a month.

Is there a way to alleviate this? I have also noticed that after several hours of play, I get more and more laggy.

the only way to alleviate the problem would be restarting your computer when you start noticing the lag. the only people that can fix this problem completely would be SOE. so if everyone sends the a mail about it, it might be addressed. although, it is a difficult problem to fix they may just ignore it...you never can tell.

I've seen little utility programs that will clean your memory at the click of a hot key ,I wonder if they would work in this situation, might be worth tracking one down & trying it out
