I have both DF and MO and haven't been playing DF for a while now due to the fact I play for PvP (mainly sieges) and that isn't happening right now. So I'm playing MO with all of it's bugs and desync crap, but I can still play and enjoy it.
Just curious how you are enjoying the sieging in MO?
Haven't got that far, to be honest I've only just managed to get a set of armour and some weapons and am still hanging around the starter town. I've got no idea if there are even working sieges in the game at the moment! Maybe someone on these forums could point me in the right direction?

I really don't get some peoples response to this post.
If you can't play it you suck. . read more. . contact support (they don't respond anyway) Gob seriously.
I see this all the time. The people that love the game drive others away. . population drops and the game gets closed. I have never seen so many complaints about how difficult it is to figure a game out. I read the help and figured it out okay but some wont. They won't buy the game.. . likely ever.
"That is okay it is an indie company. . they only need x number of subscribers to be viable"
Sure. . and how fast will those bug free patches be coming. I like MO a lot. . but the response of "you need to check the forums" is not a good one. I have never had to read the forum for any game I have played. If you have a specific question you check the forums yes. . how to start playing. . no. just my opinion.
im no hater or anything, but i just love to make bets. and i bet Mortal Online will be a huge fail. i think most of the players will turn to Darkfall within a month because i dont think they will get this game fixed until mabe september/october. some ppl may turn back to join up with the few hardcore MO fans left if the game survive that long.
im not trying to troll, but what do you guys think?

I am thinking he was being sarcastic. I think the problem you will run into more is that after you get those things figured out and get outside of the starter towns more. . a new world seems to open up but right now it is pretty empty. Again, these things do take time. I hope they have the time after release.

Unfortunately that seems like a possibility. I guess we will know once the 30 (45) days is done. By making everyone start right at launch they might ensure a decent population then, but it also means everyone free time runs out at the same time. That next day will be a good indicator.

Ahh I see, well there was a post on the MO forums inviting people to a siege but since there's no in game map right now and I don't have a mount I wasn't going to be turning up! Right now I'm not too bothered as I'm enjoying learning a new game and just talking to people in game.

Sieging right now consists of 20 guys beating on a house with swords for an hour...
I only mentioned it because you said that was your main draw to Darkfall and your preferred PvP style was sieging.

Starvault has already ruined their reputation to the majority of interested players. This is especially true for the people who have tried open beta. I've had beta since pre-order. It's still every bit as difficult to play as the first day I entered the game. If they launch now, they'll be lucky to retain enough subscriptions to keep the server(s) open. If they wait, it will take a year to fix most of the issues in the game. I think a lot of people want it to succeed, but it's only the ignorant who can't see that this game needs more time to be finished. I have never had to read forums or ask GM's how to play a game in any game that I've ever played. This dates back to Ultima Online (so you know I have some MMO experience), and that game was hardcore. Hardcore doesn't mean hard to play, it means hard to survive and succeed in general.
It doesn't matter, this has been de-hyped to the point where only a certain group of players will stay with it. Reality will set in. it's a shame, I was hoping for big things from Starvault. I've said it before. Some company bold enough to make a MMO with the Ultima Online core features and Diablo3/Titan Quest combat, it will be a smash hit. It can even be the isometric (top down) view that has helped make those games popular. Cater to every play type. PvE, PvP, Crafting. Incude social aspects for people who don't want to fight all of the time. Houses. These Indie companies venture too far away from what has proven to be successful in order to be 'revolutionary'. Stick with what works. There's no reason we can't have a MMO that straddles the bounderies of both sandbox and theme-park styles. Sometimes I wonder how these guys have the jobs that they do. I wish I had a family member in the game development field.. but I do not. Plus, it's not like anyone is going to read these forums and give me a job anyways. LoL.
I got off subject for a bit, my apoligies. I'm just saying, the game needs more time. That's all.
This game needs way more time than it has. It will end up releasing too early and will die a fast death. Very fast! Sorry, I did want this game to succeed, but they have painted them selves into a corner. If they don't release now and fix the problems, it will fail due to lack of funds. On the other hand, if they do release now as buggy as it is(I would call it pre-beta) - they will not bring any new players and will drive away all but the hardcore supporters of this game. Either way, this game is a huge fail. I would not recommend buying stock in starvault.
