Uhm my first one is Project Entropia Then I tried RuneScape but it only lasted 10min Then I moved on to SWG, great game but got bored Now? Hrm.. Waiting for either WoW or EQ2
Unfortunately, the game that got me hooked on mmorpg's forever was Helbreath which I suppose is a viable candidate to be called a mmorpg. I played it long ago in the day's before the Korean developers murdered it and took the game to p2p. At that point I moved on to so many other various mmorpg's that I doubt I could name them all. And of course you have to recognize your roots and I tried to go back to Helbreath again years later but unfortunately the hacked free servers can't exactly be called reliable.

everquest...a few years back. which eventually lead to planetside when my brother got it. i never really liked everquest but coming from starcraft it was definitly an incredible experience.
Anarchy Online was the first MMORPG for me. Back then I wasn't accustomed to all the bugs and lag issues with games, which is the norm nowadays with MMORPGs, so I stopped playing the game after about two months, if I recall correctly.
Then again, if MUDs also apply to this topic, my first one was Dune MUD. I played that beautiful text-based game actively for about six years, which is the longest for any online game for me so far. Oh the memories...
Originally posted by JexKerome My first was Redmoon Online in the U.S. (Diosa server). Had a lot of fun, but had to quit after a year or so. When I tried to return to it I find it's dead!
We are the Pagan Gods. Sure, Yahve beat the crap out of us, but we got the Internet licked.
Redmoon is still alive. Visit http://www.redmoonclassic.com This is ran the same as the old Diosa server was. Without the cost. This is free.
Virtopia- you created a pet, lvled him up, and tried to avoid the areas where hackers spammed and hacked.
Also Well of Souls- you had spirit, incarnated into the world, and played with other people on the servers, the interesting thing about it was that you could make your own skin and your own world.

the longer you stay,
the harder it is to leave...
and you can never go without leaving your prints behind...
