we all know americans are the most uptight people on the planet when it comes to women, and this game and hyung tae kims designs are all about sexyness...
so do u think the american versions gonna screw it up?

Heh, if you think Americans are the most uptight society regarding sexiness, you need to do a little cultural research. America is pretty liberal in comparison to a lot of countries by a huge margin.

you can find more uptight countries if u wanna go extreme, but whenever a game is annouce with some sexy character or anything that has to do with anime, alot of poeple esp teens of all things start complaining about booty shots or scantaly clad breast armor and stuff.. its annoying ass hell.
they seem to like ugly ass chick models and bland design like age of conan, lord of the rings online, or even shit like runescape, yet they blast things like blade and soul for looking too sexy. its shocking
people like Comnitus up there, constantly complainging about armor not being realistic, guess what dumbass its a game, do u complain when cosplayers are dress to sexy? so uptight that a virtual character is too hot lookin?

I'm sort of a "when in rome" person. If I'm playing an Asian game I know full well what the art design is. For the most part I preer it except for the "cutsey" things.
To me it's just an art style, and as you say, it's a game.
It's not like elves or magic really exist. (as far as I or anyone knows)
It would't work in LOTRO but then gain I despise the art design of the gear in LOTRO.

well i live in america and the only other place im aware of that is more perverted is japan i mean come on we have kids singing to adult music on kids bopz you got disney show kids dressing like whores tell me the jonas brothers aint flying by on looks alone only reason shows like that are on the air is because they know girls want to see jonas brothers and boys want to see hannah montana

Hey I agree. regularly go to N.Y. City and if you just walk through Times Square (the "new" Times Square, not the Times Square of the 70's) you might be amazed at some of the billboards that are up. Edit: though the times square of the 70's had it's own sexually charged flavor of course.
I'm not a prude by any standard but I sometimes have to laugh when I look up at some of the stuff that somtimes makes it up there.
What I think is the mistake that other people make about The U.S. is that we are prudish. Not at all. But we have two things that perpetuate a prudish stereotype.
1, we have the reserved nature of the north east. Makes sense given how it was founded and populated.
2, we have a vocal right wing and in the interest of everyone getting along things tend to be toned down in order to make things less offensive to people.
To a certain extent this is a good thing as I don't believe in shoving things down people's throats. Whether it be over sexualized content or zealous religious iconography.
This is not to say that it should be removed all together. Otherwise life would be a bit bland like in that Sout Park episode where they tried to remove all hints at anything that people found offensive in christmas.
But that coupled with the bible belt and it makes for the perception that we all are prudes. But as you point out, if one looks at the entertainment we make and consume then one could see that we are buying it up as fast as they can make it.
But balance is a good thing.

listen, we arent that up tight at all, and im exaggerating,
but when it comes to games, im alarmed by the number of comments complaining about anime girls being too sexy on any game website/blog, and armor being useless just for the sake of being sexy. and these are dudes complaining mind you.
i dont know what their deal is. its like they all want them to be covered up with an ugly mug. like mirrors edge, people were complaining she was ugly, and the devs got mad cuz it was their intention to make her average looking. its a fuckin game make her hot.
its like western devs go out of their way to make them ugly, there was an mmo that had hideous girls and people complained and finally they changed it. "theyre stupid atempt" to make them realistic average.

this is constant in the western game world. even japanese gamers has a saying " we all know americans makes the ugliest game characters"
one more thing, they always seem to make girls "butch" instead of feminine/cute. comic chicks need abs, they all need so broad ass shoulders, and look about 40.. who the hell is into that? its like they are incapable of making a likable cute memorable character. maybe its the super hero mentality, im convinced they make ugly chicks on purpose cuz thats what american kids want in their games, just look up any western mmo they are all ugly, unappealing, except maybe blizzard stuff

so i dont know why americans are so dam uptight when it comes to sexy girls in games but they are. just pay attention to comments on kotaku or something. maybe i shouldn't say americans are uptitght, cuz we arent, but american gamers are super uptight, either that or they really have bad taste

Please point out one example in the last 5 years where and MMO(from Asia) got censored or had things removed because it was "too sexy".(I say Asia because US had it's AoC "nipple nerf"[lol] and all that)
Just because people complain about something doesn't mean that the publisher's are going to change it. I mean, people say one thing and do the other all the time, and MMOs are no different.
Although I do hope they nerf the eyes. Jesus, some of the B&S eyes are creepy as hell. Especially when on the little girl(or I suppose I should say loli) bodies.
Finally, what is "sexy" is all about personal taste. Some people are chubby chasers, others are pe-...bears(just bears), some like OHEMMGEE boobs, and others like flat chests(airbags not included). That's one of the reasons that people play games. Various realities being acted out. You say "it's a game, make it sexy", other people say "it's a game, make it a true immersive experience." If games were only sexy, we'd only have games with big boobs and scantily clad women(which might not be such a bad idea...hehe :P). Or we might end up with nothing but average people in realistic armor, because let's face it, when is a bikini going to protect your stomach from being slashed apart. Choice is the spice of life y'know.
P.S. That AoC screenshot is hilarious. That is one SERIOUS case of camel toe. I mean, what was the point of even wearing panties in that instance.
Some disagreement here just due to overgeneralization. Large parts of the U.S. are very uptight about sexuality. All the examples to the contrary, MTV, Times Square, etc. are subcultures that the right wing moralists avoid or malign.

I hope they don't 'nerf' or 'Trojan?' this in the U.S. It has an art style that will appeal to many I think. As long as they don't pull an Aion 'youth voice' treatment with the sound, I'll be happy. Have no problem with nudity etc personally, but when one team member sound like they are self-pleasuring instead of fighting, it is less than immersive.

I would say that it's not so much as being a subculture but that people in cities and maybe even the coasts tend to be more liberal or at least more open minded than middle america or the south. Of course people may vary but I once met a man who was from Texas, who was gay, had just come to the east and was very scared to admit he was gay not realizing that it wasn't really that big a deal being in a larger eastern city. What he told us was that it wasn't openly talked about.
But then again, that is my experience. Maybe there are large openly gay communies in the south or midwest. I just don't know of them.
My experience is that larger cities tend to be a bit more open minded. But again, you have Universities, larger culture hot spots and a melting pot of different types of people right on top of one another.

actually alot of things coming to america gets censored or even changed, like i think asuma from naruto smokes a cig, and they replaced it with something, another is i think once piece where they changed his cig for a fuckin lolipop!
dragon ball is alot more violent and funny, they took out all the blood and nudity cuz of how uptite we are. so many regulations so much bearaucacy in this country. everything has some sort of rights movement behind it. its annoying
game covers getting changed or covered up for being to sexy, garments changed ingame for the same reason..
street fighter movie, chun li shower scene gets nerfed.

From what i hear they already increased the skirt length by a little, because they thought the american market would be sensitive to it.

Im not sure why they would think Americans will have a problem with the sexiness. Isnt this game being made by South Koreans? Ive lived in Korea for 2 years and they were far more uptight about nudity than Ive ever witnessed here in the US. They do get into some freaky stuff, but they try to keep it behind closed doors. Its like as long as you cant see it in public, it doesnt really happen, so they dont have to acknowledge it.
I appreciate our uptight society with nudie bars on every corner, nude/clothing optional beaches, and unlimited internet access that isnt being moderated by our government.

They'll give porn a pass because it's "adult" and "regulated" but put purposeful or even tasteful nudity in something like a game or a piece of art and suddenly the moral right is rioting in the street with cardboard signs and fox news is screaming "PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDRUNZ!" Additionally, the ratings board here is fairly corrupt. The ESRB will demand "lesser" games censor the shit out of themselves, but will give bigger titled with larger budgets a free pass on a lot. Additionally, companies in the US like to censor the hell out of shit to bring their ratings down, because they feel T rating=more sales. </p>
<p>Hell, look at Allods, which lost the bathhouse quest line because it was too "suggestive" for their US/younger demographic, but left in the half naked lamias and the quest where in someone talks about how awesome sex with lamia's is, and the sexy elven underwear. It's completely inconsistent as to what gets censored and what doesn't, and ends up being whatever they think will be a "hot button" with the vocal moral right in this country. Dante's Inferno the game has more giant phallus structures, vagina doors, and tits than you can wave a cross at, but it's not in the news because nobody cares. Grand theft auto has a poorly rendered sex scene that requires a mod chip or PC mod to access? NATIONAL NEWS AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS! </p>
<p>It may not seem like it, but the US is crazy conservative when the right set of obnoxious people hear about something. </p>
