I decided to give the game an honest shot and haven been beta testing for almost three weeks. I've been having a blast playing it while I feverishly swim my way to uberness in DFO ( Pushing 375 hp) for the last few weeks. Anyway the point is for me and I'm sure others on the fence, the only thing keeping us from buying the game is no NA server.
Comments
Much like DFO , this game will only start with one server. After they market the game and make some money they'll release another server ( assuming enough people play it for them too make money). This could be months down the road and even when they launch the server player may not be able to transfer to the new server till the new players catch up is some basic skills. So i say if you like the game that much hang tuff like i did for 8 months or so and maybe your NA server will come out, if not you'll still have your "uber" toon in MO.
Pretty sure they have said that you will NOT be allowed to transfer characters but that there would not be a fee (like Darkfall) for starting a character on a new server.
Personally i don;t see an NA server as aa realistic option for a looooong time.

Honestly, they should really try working on getting a single server working FIRST.
Having an NA server is great if the game was actually marketable to more than just fanboys at this point.
In all seriousness, what has this game actually succeeded in offering that Darkfall did not?
Im not asking for a list of promised features. Im asking for a list of features that actually work as intended. Darkfall can give me a list of promises going back to 2001, but I cant play promises!
So some facts about how MO actually is currently, please.
Laudanum - Romance. Revenge. Revolution.
Crappy, petty people breed and raise crappy, petty kids.
The only "better" feature in MO is crafting. But it's the process that's better. The results wind up in everybody getting a handful of weapons because nothing is properly balanced.
Other than that, MO does nothing better than DF, even when you compare lauch vs launch.
MO right now is not ready for launch. Theres so much stuff they still need to sort.

I disagree, they do graphics and sounds alot better. The death and turning into a spirit and finding a priest to ressurect you is pretty awesome in my opinion compared to spawning at a bind stone. Theft. The flagging system beats DFO and the fact that if you go red and die you lose stats and you have to wait 20 hours of gametime to lose the red status. Character creation and the character models are better, skill cap with quicker gains is better than no cap with slow gains. NPC towns look like real towns and MO has great immersion.
Sure there's a whole heap of things DFO does better but this is about what MO does better right now that I've experienced.

Sorry, I was sticking on features. The graphics in MO are better, the animations are way worse. Sounds are about the same, but MO's musical score is good -- not sure if it's better (does DF even have one?).
As for the flagging system well... it doesn't work properly to THIS DAY. It's a great idea in theory, because they ripped it 100% from UO, but if it doesn't work it can't be quantified as a better feature because well... it's broken. And with all the problems of desync still abound, their concerns of the flagging system working properly is going to be bottom of the barrel.
Well I'm a hardened DFO fanbois and I'll say the sound is better in MO due to ambient sounds from the sea, wind and say fountains and mobs. DFO just doesn't have them, as for musical score well the DFO music is OK but gets very repetitive (don't they all?) and no one in their right mind would play DFO with music or any ambient sounds.
I haven't played MO long enough to notice the flaws in the flagging system, all I know is that the alignment system in DFO had its big flaws also and so far the MO system for me has done well.
But yeah this isn't ready for release and it'll get a good hard slating if it does but atleast I know what it is I'm buying. I know it's pretty screwed up right now but it's fun enough to pay for, not like when I did the OB for AoC only to find out after launch the hype was BS and most of those features didn't exist. So with SV I'm not getting conned more I'm taking a gamble and will see if it pans out good. If not then I had fun losing my cash at the casino

When open beta will be over and MO will be release, we will get reed of the desinc lag because less players will get on. NPC towns wont be crowded like in open beta meaning no desinc lag. OK, if the game become popular and the desinc lag come back, it will be a problem and i hope it will get fixed or MO will fail, but not die. The pure UO fans will stay and the extra will leave. I never played UO, my 1st mmorpg is wow and MO still interest me to the fullest.

darkfall AI = 100x mo AI

lol i disagree, mo has good ai, have you even tried the mobs what dont bug? such as sators, urials and so on.
Do you not see the humor in that statement?
