A warning: pay attention to your billing

I recently cancelled my sub for CO, electing to play out my remaining time instead of waiving my already-paid-for access (not even sure why that is an option).  After a few days I logged back in, started playing again, and decided to resub.  When I did, it immediately charged my credit card  for another month and reset the renewal date of the subscription even though I still had roughly a week of paid time on the account.  Customer Service couldn't handle my complaint when I called in, and had to "escalate" it to the next level, blah blah blah.  It was never resolved.

 

I thought I'd post a warning to others who may consider resubbing - either wait until your time runs out or reconsider.

That's actually a fairly serious issue and you shouldn't let it pass.

You have options.

You can contact your credit card company and challenge the charge via them.

Or - and in my experience this usually works - contact Cryptic's billing department and advise them that if they don't immediately rectify the problem that you'll lodge a formal complaint against them.

You might find they fix your problem more quickly if you mention IC3 by name. If they know you know who to complain to, then they'll treat this more seriously.

You're right about the option to waive already paid for access being odd. It's difficult to imagine why they would.

The same thing happened to me. Conctact your CC company or bank and contest the charges. Remove all CC info from you account once you unsubscribe. Only use paypal or time cards to activate mmo's in the future IMHO.
