I guess people can experience Revelations during this event as well.
Nice. I always like CO. I've never really been a fan of superheroes and comics but this game really tugged a heart cord. So much diversity among the community players and the imagination is great. I just wish there was more to do. When i sub up on/off i always get to about 22 and feel a huge grind.
Yeah, I actually got the 6-month plan deal at launch, but after the first month I never logged in, except for the Bloodmoon event, which was horrible. I got this email, and thought I would share for those who may be interested in trying it themselves, or wanna go back to see how the game is doing.
Starts tomorrow for those that want to try the game beyond the trial zone. You can download the client early.
i already downloaded the client and played till the end of trial zone, does that mean when weekend starts that i will be able to continue beyond trial zone?
Just a word of warning. If you are applying the weekend reactivation to an existing account with characters over level 15 do not log onto them until after the event starts at 10pm PDT (1.5 hours from the time of this post) as you'll be deleveled to 15. For some reason applying it to the existing retail accounts is allowing you to log in before it starts and it's unclear whether or not the toons will automatically go back to their real levels once it does, theres the possibility they won't as i believe it's a bug with us being able to log in already.
Now, all that being said, i'm hoping my toons are permanently bugged out. They now show as 15 on the char select as well as ingame but have all their level 40 powers, stats, gear advantages etc on them. Perhaps when the weekend event goes live the game will still see them as 15 and i can continue to level them from there back up to 40 getting an extra 25 levels of everything lol. It's a far fetched hope i know, but well, cryptic aren't exactly the most competent company in the industry
I think I'm missing something obvious hehe.... I re-read the email I received and still get the impression all you need to do is login with your old info. However, I still get "account error, contact billing" when I try to login and can't play. Is there something we need to do with our account page to access the game for the free period, maybe enter a key or something?
Try going to this page and hitting "sign up now."

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply Champ, that seemed to do it!
Now for the patching
This occurred to an ingame friend after their 2week trial expired. They were level 21 and then logged back in and was deleveled to 15. I believe what happens is the account defaults to the infinite free trial which has a level cap of 15, and just forces all your toons back down to 15. However, once they applied their serial code and relogged their levels were restored to 21. So more then likely when the event actually begins your levels will be restored when you log back in.
Yeah, what happens with the de-leveling to 15 is that your character retains all of their numerical xp, so even though it is alarming to see them de-level (I think they should fix it to make it less alarming), as soon as you re-subscribe the character goes back to being the way they were, with no lasting damage done.

I see they still haven't done anything to make unarmed fun to play. It's a shame, because besides that, I really like the game, but won't pay to play it until I can have fun playing my unarmed toon.

I signed up, downloaded, and discovered my old computer can only barely run the game. The starting point lags terribly, even with everything I could think of turned down. It does look fun. But I can't play it until I save enough for upgrades.
What I could experience:
Rather like the comic-book looking graphics. They might look different if I didn't have everything turned down.
Quests are really visible with giant yellow marks. There are a lot of them in the first level or two; not sure how later is.
Aggressive mobs from first quest on, which I like. I've been in a lot of games (older ones, I guess) where nothing attacks you till level 5 or so. Hard to feel epic killing things that ignore you, but here you actually need to fight.
Very nice character creation; lots of detail available.
Mechanics look different as far as stats/upgrades and so on. But I haven't slogged through the lag long enough to catch on to it.
Tried that, but all I get is "There was an error in the signup process. Please try again later." Will keep trying on and off but sheesh...
Been playing casualy over the free weekend. The game seems to run better on my meduim powered rig than last September and is quite amusing for a few days. Once again it comes down to the novelty factor and once that wears off the game is very repetitive and shallow.
I couldnt justify subscribing. F2P model would probably be a quite successful way forward .
