Switching you character to another server.

I was on the chat today while waiting for the game to finnish its scan and noticed something one of the GMs (I guess thats what the guys in red are) mentioned. He said that an option to transfer your character to another server will be availabul. When he did not say just that it is planed.

How sweet is that?

Only thing I am worried it the name thing. I take it you cant switch if someone else on the server has your name. Also how often you can do this is an issue, hopefull not often.

I dont know what information the "red" guys have but still its a neat idea.

    ya.. they are sony.. they like money.. switch your charcter naked for like 50 bucks :O lol

    Well, with the way they have been spamming System Messages on Najena about starting other characters on "lag free" servers, I would not be suprised if they initially did a character transfer for free so that they can balance out their existing servers and then change it to a pay service down the road.

    I would hope that at first this is a free service, seeing as a majority of the servers become locked during primetime.  Those of us who play during those hours tend to have a hard time trying to make characters on servers where our guild resides (or maybe this is just me).

    They offered free transfer to new servers when they opened in eq1.. but only a certain time and a certain day.. like 2-3 dates.. thats it :P

    I guess the thing you have to consider is IF you should move even if the server you are on is full most of the time. Most likly alot of ppl will move and the server is ok again. =) OR alot of ppl move to the same server and the same thing happens to that server...lol

    I am hoping this would be an option when you play. When entering the game you choose what server to play on. Making all server availabul for your characters...this is a better solution if you ask me. But i guess technicly this is hard?
