Id say definitly addictive. Im so glad that the wow beta is over as im actually going to class and getting work done now. I won't be buying retail as ive finally learned my lesson. 16 hour studying catch up days arent fun. If i was an unemployed bum i could play mmorpgs all day but i cant and its just too hard to stop for me when theres always one more mob to kill.

Ill be sticking to more finite games like fps shooters that i dont have to play for 8 hours a day to feel like ive accomplished somehting.

Guildwars i think will also be good for me cause:

    A) during the beta ill only be playing one weekend a month.

    B) when retail comes the game is split into nice finite levels or missions and i wont be tempting to just continously play cause the level cap is 20.

LOL that's what I was thinking. Sorry, I do not use spell check on forums. The guy is just describing his life, so i'll just leave him alone. I can imagine him sitting at home bashing his keyboard against his monitor because he realizes how insignificant he really is. ::::28::

Video games exist because we want to experience a world we could not otherwise. I think the addiction to gaming is an indicator of dissatisfaction(as someone said before me) with real life. It's a tool of escape, like drugs, but safer(at least I like to think so) and legal. I think you just have to watch yourself. If you realize you're playing too much. Try your hardest to leave the house and go somewhere meet someone. Anything to return you to reality. Games are fine entertainment but they can't sustain you.

Reality is not all it's cracked up to be...That's why there are video games

Dispite the week long shoulder injuries from sitting in my seat without moving, numorous caffiene overdoses, and slightly blurred retinas, I still think that mmorpgs are good clean fun. They take out stress, bring in happiness and fulfillment and they allow you to meet many new people. The only reason mmorpg players are labeled as nerds is because the labelers don't know how much fun they are having. I am pro mmorpgs.

the only bad thing about them for me is that i need to quit smoking and i cannot

because im hooked on mmo's. i need lots of coffee to play for hours and with the coffee comes the smokes. on top of that i smoke more weed then i have ever done, which is ok by me but i cannot 2uit the other things unless i quit mmos first lol. once i do that then i can work down the ladder of my hobby addictions 8)
