This game is horrible. The game play the combat and graphics. Also The way everyone treats each other is as bad or worse then the Age of conan community.

In this game the people who have been there longest and have the most EXP points, and got the first promotions form the GMs are in complete control of you and they can promote or demote or remove your faction privileges. and confiscate your money at anytime if you don't do exactly what they tell you to do.

All Ranks/levels beyond the first one are all player given by the higher ranking players. If they want to promote you.

The combat is horrible too There are many people in it who use cheats and exploits during fighting. All combat in this game is PVP.

On top of this you can only have one account per household, any other accounts made will automatically be banned by the IP address you used to log into the first account created. So if you got a husband or wife who wanted to play with you. they cant, When you make a support ticket requesting the account to be unlocked for your husband or wife to play with you. or boyfriend or girlfriend they will deny your request and if you ask again they will threaten the first working account made form that IP address and accuse you of scamming and say you don't have a husband or wife wanting to play too, and try to say your just wanting an alt account.

Your better off not to even try this game. There are many better alternatives around

Translation: "I wanted an easy to understand themepark MMO to play with my boyfriend".

"Traditionally, massively multiplier online games have been about three basic gameplay pillars – combat, exploration and character progression. In Alganon, in addition to these we've added the fourth pillar to the equation: Copy & Paste."

The one account per IP address is one of a kind, isn't it? I've never heard of that.

Why do they have that? To prevent what? I ask since I wanted to play (and I only need one account) but if the game GMs are idiots, then I'd rather leave the game alone.

They have this limitation to prevent spying on other factions.

You have free account and payed accounts. You can have two payed accounts without a problem, but you can not hold an free account and then any other type. Every faction has sensative information and alts are often being used to exploit this information. Spying on your enemy is good without a doubt! However not when you use alts. Back in the beta (first beta) one of the factions had a huge intel network with included high ranked faction members of other faction with they "planted" in that faction and who worked there way up. Hardly anyone know about it include members of there own faction.

This game is suitable for a very small group of people. The learning curve is big and well the community aint all to friendly to people outside of there faction. Normally within your faction you can get plently of help or even from your allies. Also people can not simply take you money whenever they want. If they do so they get demoted by either the faction themselves as most faction like to have an keep there members (numbers are importend!) or the GM will simply bad the player and reimburst you. If you get fined unfairly that is.

The games give the player a bigger responsibility and power and with that you have abuse (abuse that the GM will warn people for and those that are still within limits). This might scare off plently of folks. The combat itself is something to get used to. If you looking for an shooter like CS then you are in the wrong place. The combat system is a whole lot different and far from perfect.

If you follow the rules of the faction you join you gain rank yourself soon as well. True you need to become friends with the leadership position in most cases to do so or get the respect from the rest of the faction and run for rank 7 (faction leader) yourself. I have done it all in the game (beside being rank 7) . Also just enjoy every rank. Believe me that you will grave back being an regular grunt often once you become part of the command structure...especially when your a faction leader.

The new combat patch really is terrible. It's like Quake now. Everyone runs around super fast, no cone of fire, very minor recoil and pretty unlilmited weigtht. It's dumb. It used to be a good trade off between tanking and speed, but now everyone gets to be everything. Developers never learn. This Duplex chap seems to do whatever the forum rabble whines about.

    Shame on him.

That all sounds rather appealing to me, actually. Unfortunately I really dislike the graphics. And not a fan of cheats/exploits.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Just like with the very old beta back in the day. They seem to get stupid when they go with the games release. Game was great every single time I played beta. Players pretty much ran the main show in the game. Taught players and all that. Enjoyed a bit of RP when I played. Game was a breath of fresh air and like always they release the game, it gets bogged to crap.

When did you start playing "old school" MMO's. World Of Warcraft?

Last time I tried this game I created a character, loaded in and instantly started getting shot at by a group of like 10 people. It doesn't have an in game tutorial and doesn't explain much, just kind of throws you in expecting that you watched that 44 minute tutorial video. Instead of taking the time to make that video, they should have taken the time to add an in game tutorial since interaction based tutorials are a lot better than being told how to do something through a RIDICULOUSLY long video.

There should be a tutorial in now...or there making one not sure. Anyhow had the precise start as you had. I however asked around what was going on and got a answer. Well back then there was a tutorial though. It however did not explain anything you could not find out yourself without a problem.

Yeah, I tried asking around but nobody was answering for some reason. That's okay though, I might give it another shot. It just seemed so awkward to play back then, I figured out basic things like controls and such, but other than that I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Maybe I just was asking around wrong.

population aint to high and some factions are as good as dead though. When I was playing it was in beta and the game was alive.

My first experience was as vague as anybody's, but I ended up on the GoM planet Aurelia and some people went out of their way to teach me some things. I instinctively wanted to tell them "no", and figure it out on my own, but that would have been mistake no. 1.
