In 10+ years of playing MMOs I have NEVER even had so much as a warning for anything I do/did.
Only place I ever got a warning is on this site for trolling and fanboi bashing. I guess some mods here just have no sense of HAHA and take their NON-PAYING jobs a tab bit to seriously!
At almost 50 years old I really don't think I care much what a 14 year old mod has to say and there are waaaaay too many sites like this out there to care if they want to ban my ass here or not.
They need us to make money here we can go anywhere to get MMO news!
So is this trolling Mr Mod or does it fit into the OP discussion?
I got a warning once in swg (pre-nge) for something I said to another player I was trying to kill on my bounty hunter. Some people took killing their jedi really personally. I killed exactly 300 jedi as a bounty hunter and I'd say about 25% of them got all pissy about it. That only made me go after them even more (I killed one dude 5 times in less than a week).
Other than that, no in game warnings or bans for any mmo I've played, though I've gotten about a dozen or so forum warnings and a few temp bans over the years on various sites, including 5 or 6 warnings here.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
got a warning and teleported behind the woodshed with 2 high lvl gms in fallen earth be cause they didnt like my opinion of my not being able to curse in chat in a mature rated game that the npcs curse at you in
Never been banned, however, I did receive a warning on XBOX live for telling some teenager that it did not matter if he won because I was going to have sex with my girlfriend tonight and he was going to box the clown to his mom's Victoria's sectret.
I was 1-day banned once from this site for calling out a Darkfall player. I thought it was ironic that a person who talks about how hardcore they are and how carebears cry in their presence would end up reporting me for such a small comment. Oh well.
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
Never been banned from ingame but i have been banned at least 6 times from the official Star Trek Online Forums. They ban me i get another 5 or ten day key go back annoy the hell out of the fan boys get banned again rinse repeat. Proxy Servers FTW
I and a few of my guildmates got threatened with a permaban from Lineage 2 for beating up the gold farmers. Yep you heard it right. We would get together a few nights a week and go on a dungeon clearing rampage ( got some nice gear that they dropped as well ). After just over 3 weeks of kicking them out so that honest players could actually enjoy the content and do their missions a GM turned up and threatened us.
I and a few others left the game after that because if we didn't know it before it kind of confirmed NC's stance on the gold farmers. i should also mention that in just under two years of playing that was only one of two GM's that I ever saw in that game.
I was given a warning about an incident when I FIRST started playing WoW on Laughing Skull server. Just made a Night elf, and was walking down a road and saw a guy who was AFK and dead... so I emoted a frown or something.
Later I get a warning that I had been reported for intentionally putting a campfire under an AFK player and killing them, that it was considered griefing and I was basically in "deep shit". So I replied "Feel free to check my character, I JUST started this game, I don't HAVE the cooking skill yet or even know HOW to make a campfire yet. Check the character logs or whatever it is you're SUPPOSED to do... but before you go waving around your BANHAMMER you might want to check the validity of a noobs accusations!"
My first near-ban and I all I did was =
Oh yeah almost forgot...
I was threatened in DAoC about my characters... "Sledge Drakken" and "Tremera Drakken", Hibernian side and told I had to CHANGE MY NAMES because the first names went against naming policy. Long story short... I ganked too many Midgard punks who either worked for Mythic or were friends of those who did. Midgard toons with names like "Abercrombie" and "Willow" never had to change their names. gg So I changed my nightshade to "Iol", went out ganked a bunch of Midgards for a few days, then quit.
"There is only one thing of which I am certain, and that's nothing is certain."
Once in WoW I was bored and in goldshire, so I ran around for 10 minutes dancing in front of people and saying "I have a big Penis."
When I logged in the next day they had suspended me for 3 days, and also when my suspension was up I couldn't use any public chat for 24 hours or so -.-
The part that made it all worth it was an email stating that I had been reported for using vulgar or inappropriate language at such and such time: "I have a big Penis." Since they actually put it in the email I just laughed :P
I've banned in Planetside 3 times (1 week suspensions), for hacking supossedly. Even though the weapons I used back then were nearly impossible to cheat with (I didn't cheat fyi). And I've had a 3 day chat suspension in SWG for excessive vulgarity after I was cussing out a bounty hunter that killed my Jedi (This is when Jedi's were all and mighty and had perma death).
Lost my forum posting privileges on WoW because I told Tseric he was being less than honest about Blizzard catering to pet guilds during the AQ event. Before that never had a warning, I tired to contact Blizzard a couple times but once you get perma banned from the forums it will never ever be reversed for any reason...there are guys who have lost their forum accounts simply because they have had said account hacked. I brought it up at Blizzcon 2009, and was told by Metzen and Pardo that it was quote unquote messed up...but they still won't do anything about it. Blizzard mods answer to no one, if you rub them the wrong way you can lose your items you posting rights and even you account and there is no appeal.
This sword here at my side dont act the way it should Keeps calling me its master, but I feel like its slave Hauling me faster and faster to an early, early grave And it howls! it howls like hell!
Perma Banned from the WOW forums for impersonating Ghostcrawler.
I was using the name Beercrawler.
This account has been suspended from the World of Warcraft forums for a 1 week period for impersonating a Blizzard employee. This is a final warning. Further violations of Forum Guidelines could result in a loss of posting privileges.

While it may seem so right now, we are indeed looking into balancing issues at this very moment. But to be fair we at Blizz have sufficiently scaled all damage per class damage percentile variables to manifest in a way to force and equal distribution of all damage on a Global scale. So that damage from paladins you complain so much about is indeed part of the bigger picture via raiding, pvp, and so forth. Such as to say if we were to nerf Paladin damage in the ways you seem to believe would bring " balance " to the game we would indeed create a huge class imbalace as those paladins killing you in Battlegrounds or Arena etc. would create a rift and thus your Arena numbers would drop, without the benefit of a worthy adversary to beat. Also looking at paladin Arena distribution we are looking mostly at holy, so indeed that resilience you spoke of does indeed work, maybe its not perfect yet thats why were buffing it, but indeed Ret does not dominate in the way you seem to think, I am sure many Retribution paladins would agree with me on this.
Also looking at the Arena balance we are actually more concerned with Rogues and Priests indeed that is the burst that may indeed need to be nerfed for true balance to be maintained as they as keeping retribution out of fruitful 2350 territory as of yet. So looking at the numbers in a patterned way we can clearly see a need for a Retribution Buff based clearly on the Very Data you see fit to display in your misplaced show of anger and frustration.
Dont make Blizz ban you for your insolence.

The one week ban was followed by a perma ban, I was so proud.
2 Lineage 2 accounts perma-banned for botting funny thing is that they were always autorunning with my main character and me main never got banned just my buffbots. Had several GM's contact me in WoW because people cant read my characters name evidently Creamytoad is too close to Creamyload and people get offended but they havent made me change my name yet. Also have been warned but not had a name change yet for my character Capnstabbin for a porn reference. Also had a name change done on my toon Fleshrocket evidently that one was offensive. Got bored with Aion and wanted to test and see if they actually were legit banning people that botted so i ran a bot non stop 24/7 for 3 weeks and never got banned i canceled my acct because the game bored me to tears.
Haha, i have a good one. It was quite recent too. I unsubscribed from World of Watcraft. About a month later i get an E-mail telling me im perma-banned. At first a laughed, but then it dawned on me how much work would go down the drain if i didnt respond to it. I had to send them and E-mail and go through multiple support people to get my UNSUBSCRIBED account back from the ban. Best part of it? The ban was for "Innapropriate use of user account". *sighs deeply*
I got a 3-day ban in Everquest back in 2000, for not "sharing" the goblin king's spawn camp for his loot, even though I was there first. The GM was called (this was when they actually came to investigate instead of having to write up stupid CS tickets) he was hiding in the wall. So I let the other guy fight the goblin king and he died, so I killed him and took the loot. The next day, I found my account banned.
Seven day ban from DAoC for radaring. Three day ban from MMORPG for god knows what.
OMG, I forgot the best ban. I was banned from EQ2 forums, because my name was Master_Baiter. I had the name forever, but never posted. Once I did they banned me.
Had an account banned playing eve during beta. We got a bunch of people together in a dead end system, destroyed the exit gate and just waited. People would fly into the system and couldn't get away as we destroyed them. Since it was beta I never bothered to contest it or play the game. Was really fun doing it though. Also had 2 accounts banned in DAOC. Luckily both were bot accounts. One was for stumbling onto an item duplication bug that allowed me to make 200 plat worth of a healer NPC for every toon on the account and the other was after a server merge I went to port into my guild house only to realize I was ported into Midgard housing in front of a guild house with the same name as ours. I ported back to cammy, respecced to smite and went back totally wreaking havoc on random afkers and crafters. Was too fun both times even though I knew what was coming. Just thinking about the looks on people's faces when they came home to find all their helper npcs dead and gone or coming back from afk crafting and seeing their corpse was worth losing the one 50 I had on there.
I got the idiots of Jagex (makers of Runescape) to believe that I got hacked when I was spamming and stuff, when it was just me being bored. Went from permanent ban to a completely free slate. XD
But besides Runescape I've never gotten in trouble for any other games.
Got a temp ban in EvE once, for cursing someone out.
So I'm flying around, doing those boring ass missions, minding my own business, when I notice another player in my vicinity. I was in .8 space or something, so I'm wondering what this guy is doing just hanging out near me. Then he proceeds to steal all the loots from all the ships I was killing in the mission.
I ask him politely to please go kill his own ships, and to kindly leave my loot alone. He basically tells me to F off, and it's HIS loot now, and there's nothing I can do about it. I dumped the mission and left the area. Later on, I sent him a super nasty in-game mail. I used just about every curse word, and insult I knew, and after I finished wishing ill will on him, his fleet, and his family, the little hypocrite bastard had the audacity to report me.
So the piece of shit thief got away scott free, and I got a temp ban for giving him a piece of my mind. Not a warning mind you, as it was my first offense, never minding the fact that I was defending myself against some asshat thief. Yeah I could have attacked him, then I would have lost not only the loot, but also my ship, it's gear, and all my implants. Oh and I would have had to pay for a new clone too.
I never went back after that. Canceled my sub that day.
I did try a bot out on WoW a few years ago cause I was bored (Did get a new account for that). Got banned after a few days (I was at like lvl 50 or so). But thats all the bans I've got in any mmo. And yes, botting is gay. But I was tired of lvling.. Already had a few 70's

Did the same in WoW, toon named BuckFlizzard, but only got hit with a rename.
