Help for where to level 35-40

Hey,

Returning to DAOC from a long  time break but I'm currently having some trouble finding a decent place to hunt from level 35-40. Been mostly doing the whole BG leveling thing, but I keep getting run over in  Molvik and it's starting to become annoying. I'm on the Hib side playing an enchanter/druid. Thanks in advance.

Haven't played in years.  Glad to see some people going back though.  What server are you playing on?  Classic and ToA (do they still have it?) hunting spots are quite different.

I'm on Ywain, which is a ToA server.

Yeah, classic serversr are gone (Turned out to be a big waste of time), but anyway . . .

As for leveling, it depends on what you want to do.  If you want to run task dungeons the task master is at the North end of TNN.  I think that is for your level.

You can go into the catacombs zones.  You have the abandoned mines or the queen's labrynth.

There is a dungeon in the orignal zones.  I forget which one is level appropriate.  It is either then one in Cliffs of Moher or the Bog.

Oceanus Hesperos in ToA should be around your level with plenty of mobs.  Good way to start getting glass.

Other than that type /map to pull up your map.  As you look at each zone it should tell you the level of the zone and that should guide you.

Go to new frontiers especially if you do not have a buff bot. Buy the buffs from the buff bot and kill stuff in new frontiers outside the gates and work your way out its double xp.

I'm having a really easy time leveling just doing the "taskmaster" stuff.

In 2 nights I did like 4 or 5 levels (mid 30"s) It is getting kind of dull though, fast but dull. The other issue is there are no real rewards or drops, just cash from what I've experienced.

I'll probably follow that other tip and head to the NF areas.

Darkness Falls is the best lvling in the game, same xp as frontiers, but loads more cash and there are also Seals that drop which can be used to buy some pretty decent gear, which also have some of the best salvage rates for even more cash.(they also sell to npc merchants for a decent amout too)

Waste of time? They were the most popular servers for a long time, until Mythic finally fixed ToA.

Its a shame theres instances and /level and /map in DAoC now, really hurt the longevity of the game.

As for what to do, instances are a quick way to level for you, or any catacombs zones, heavily populated with XP quests. Maybe there's even some other people leveling, no idea.

    I

Eaxctly why it was a waste.  After classic, it was the next patch cycle that did a significant nerf to ToA difficulty.  Most things can be done by a group or less.  They have continued to tweak things since and added in glass now as an alternative to doing the encounters.  They should have just made the ToA changes and let that be the end of it.

Instead, you have Classic come out and that destroys the regular server's population (not because most people wanted the server, but just wanted to start over).  This made many people quit because there was no one to play with on the regular server.  A month later and with 3 classic servers open, classic server pop starts to decline.  People go back to the regular servers.  More clustering gave ToA servers higher population.  People kept leaving classic either for ToA servers or just the game.  You ended up with classic having a tiny population and now it is gone.  Then you have to listen to the few who play classic server whine about how they miss or, or how they have to do ToA, etc.

So yeah, big waste of time to put up servers just to take them down because the population was too low.  Should have just sped up the release of the ToA fixes.
