WoW on hold, what to play now?

TaelTael Member Posts: 28

So I'm finally bored of WoW, of course until Cata comes out then it's back here yet again!

What would you guys recommend playin'?

I enjoy all aspects of an MMO, as in PvE, PvP, group play, solo play, etc.

I enjoy an immersive world (spelled right? No probably not)

I was looking at Everquest 2, the world looks fantastic and it's DIRT CHEAP.. what is it like 5 dollars for 42 expansions? Heard it was dead though

I was also looking at Eve Online, something about that Time = Skill really turns me off though

Hm

Pick up battlefield 2 or mw2, there aren't any good MMORPGs out right now.

Wait until SW:TOR, the 150 million dollar game is released.

All i've been doing is MW2ing 10th prestige.. sigh :S I need an MMO!

What's the point of AoC if only the 20 levels are fun haha

Like DrunkWolf said the first 20 levels of AoC is simply fantastic (and free).

LOTRO is also pure quality and cheap, although the lack of normal PvP gets a bit boring at times.

Then buy battfield bad company 2

I was the same... playing mw2 non-stop... BC2 is a REALLY refreshing game to play, you won't regret it (if your PC can run it)

    Lol.

Welcome to the club of "anything other". The club that dwells around for 4 years now... :)

I bet 1.000 dollars you would have more fun leveling a new character throughout old Azeroth in the new way (with experience turned off in PVE and only level through PvP), than in all those so called "WOW killers" of the past.

But as you wouldn't believe me anyway .... try PotBS or Eve. At least they are different.

The first is a real gem, the second is mostly played on forums, but at least you'll do something.

Want a real mmorpg? Play WOW with experience turned off mode and be Pve_Pvp King at any level without a rat race.

    I have 7 80's, I doubt I'd have more fun :P

I've played since the very first day of release, the first months we're just fucking magical, lol

Expansions tend to bore me after a while though.

If you are still enjoying WoW then you will most likely not be interested in EVE.

I know once I left WoW I was in no shape to play EVE, it took at least a year and a half before I got into it.

Played: World of Warcraft (5Y), WarHammer (3M), Anarchy Online, Runescape (5+Y), Lord of the Rings Online, Runes of Magic, City of Heroes/Villains, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Fallen Earth (1M)

    Currently Playing: Guild Wars
    Currently Trying: None
Taking a Break From: EVE Online

I just started age of conan with a friend last week, and we have been having a blast. The first 20 levels, being free, are very fun- but the fun doesn't end there. We are well past that mark and still loving the game every time we log in!

You could try the free trial of Warhammer Online.

Free is usually a good thing.

    I totally agree.

AoC is a great game now after all the hard work they put into it after launch.

Short of the 80 minis being irritating due to premades and buff stacking, the game is thriving and fun as hell now.  Make sure and roll on the cimmeria server if you like pvp.
