It would be nice if they did but unfortunately, scrolls of resurrection only last 10 days.
RAF (Recruit a friend) is a different kind of trial where you also get 10 free days of game time. This one though, gives you and the recruiter triple xp while you are teamed up together. This one requires you to create a fresh RAF account from scratch.
Judging by your post however, I'm assuming that you already have played WoW before and so the one you will want to go for is a scroll of resurrection.
Both cases will reward the sender 30 days of game time if you sign up for a paid subscription.
Alternatively, you can start a brand new trial account all on your own and that will also be good for 10 free days.
Somebody posted up a real good guide to maximizing your free game time a while back. I think this is how it goes:
-Sign up for free trial - get 10 free days
-Buy World of warcraft retail - get 30 free days
-Sign up for TBC trial - get 10 free days
-Buy TBC
-Sign up for Wrath of the Lich King trial - get 10 free days
