Do they still have the combat chains and area attacks?  I found the combat system to be extremely clunky.

Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.

The combat is actually quiet fast pace when u pvp with others. maybe u like the 1 button smashing type of mmo?? and i dont think its that dark? most mmo are going down that way unless u like hello kitty online?

mate im telling you its probably the most innovative gameplay out there for a combat mmo system right now

im sorry i cant put words together nicely alright. im just saying this is a great game now and people should have go at it rather than complain theres nothing to play ect. in every mmo theres something you wont like but thats life you take it or leave it. if u want to diss someone please do it elsewhere not here, im asking you again please.

How is the lag playing from Australia? I think a poster a few posts back was experiencing lag. Just curious how it is with your experience.

Glad you're enjoying the game. It's all about having fun.

I could see where Austrailians would be lonly in this game. According to Alexa less than 1% of the site traffic comes from Australia.

    I miss DAoC

AoC rocks. "Most Improved MMO for 2009" award is well deserved.

Population is very solid on the servers I am on (Wicanna,Cimmeria).

As for the "slow combat" remark?

That just baffles me, because AoC has very fast paced connective combat that outshines EVERY other MMO I have tried. By connective I mean it feels realistic complete with collision detection.

Casters do have a different feel from mele, maybe that post was from someone who only played a caster?

I love playing AoC when I can find a group. This game has the best graphics and the best combat in any game I've ever played, but the content from 1-75ish really blows unless you dont mind soloing the whole way. If you are looking for a group experience it is really tough to find atleast on the Set server during east coast prime time. Everyone I have talked to in game or on the forums advises me to solo quest to 75 before I start grouping. If you like that kind of game play then you should be quite happy here.

  • The fact that I am practially playing a single-player game until level 70-ish was what drove me away. Beautiful graphics, combat was nothing new but felt fluid, I do think AoC has its good points, it's just that it feels like a single-player game to me :(.

The city building is a nice feature but since you can't plan and design your city yourself it is not a sandbox feature. Your city looks about the same as anyones else who built it in the same place.

If they put in more work on this so you actually could do this and decorate the city yourself I think the game would get quite a few players just on that.

As for me I played it 9 months but been on a rather long break, I plan to go back when the new expansion hits. The content is still kinda thin right now.

About time theres positive feedback from people who has ACTUALLY played or playing the game. Yes i agree it would be mad if we could design our own city, i actually thought we could do that when i first started. Would be even more mad during siege times you the game kinda turns into a RTS game, where u plan where you want to put your towers and building to block off enemies, decoy buildings. Could be a stupid thought though??

You solo to up lv 70 ish because theres not enough players to group with, but if you have a good guild you can group up pretty easily. The main concern for me are the mini games. They lack something but im not sure what??

If you don't want to solo your way from 1-70, then there are no better way than to join a guild, and preferably a good and active one. It's the way it has allways been in MMOs.

@Loke: With the introduction of the renown system in patch 1.07 that released less than a month ago, you now can decorate your city to your hearts content. Plants, pillars, banners, statues, heads on sticks - the lots. There are fixed spots on where you can put this stuff, but what to build on them is all up to the guild to decide. When the guild levels up you also get more building options and more spots to build on. Recipies for decorations also drops from mobs in certain places too.
