How are RMT's in EQ2?

Bandar83Bandar83 Member UncommonPosts: 37

Greetings everyone!

I am interested in trying out EQ2, but I'm always on edge with subscription based games that allow/encourage real money transactions. As a general rule, I don't even try them and write them off.

However, I'm ok with RMT's if everything in the shop is reasonably attainable in the game. I shouldn't have to pay a sub and then have to pay more for extra content/pets/housing/races/etc.  If you sub you should have access to everything.

That brings me to my question. How are the RMT's in EQ2? Are all the items in the shop reasonably attainable through in the game play?

Depending on how SOE is handling RMT's will determine whether I give this a try. I'm stoked to try it. It sounds like a good game. I've heard amazing things about the crafting. I just don't play games with greedy devs.

Thanks for all your responses.

THe RMT in eq2 has things not nessassry for eq2 at all, most like  appearance cloths and weapons. Everything else in the shop u can get else where in game.

Just wanted to confirm what HIDDEN said. The stuff in the marketplace is appearance only gear, non-combat pets, house items for decorating your house, and stuff like that. The ONLY "useful" thing is potions that give you a 10% xp bonus, which is next to nothing.  There is absolutely no gear with stats, or anything that could give you any kind of advantage in PvE or PvP. Period.

I have purchased a couple of housing items. But you can get THOUSANDS of housing items that are far better from carpenters in the game and on the broker and via status points, so....really....nothing note-worthy in the marketplace. Meaning...nothing that imbalances the game so....don't worry. :)

    Actually....they have a LOT that WoW doesn't offer. :)   ( But I know that's not what you meant. ;)  )

There's appearance gear and household items of all types...more FUN stuff, or "fluff" as some people call it. WoW has only about 2-4 non-combat pets and the things you just said....which yes, EQ2 also has "potions"  for name, gender, and server change....I believe they call it the "Norrathian Witness Protection Program," iirc.  =D Since WoW does not HAVE housing or appearance gear....they don't have anything to offer in those categories, while EQ2....does.
