I'll never give this game another shot. Just isn't worth the game-play aggravation. PvP all the time, but what makes Darkfall tame in comparison, is there is no rampant pvp in an npc city, as there is in Mortal Online. A thief can steal anything at anytime from someone's pack in an npc city; a newbs new-found leather or newly earned cash. There is absolutely no respite in this game.
You should try being a theif for a few days, you quickly learn it's so simple to avoid having anything stolen at all.
Edit; Theives are only effective against the stupid.
Ths is true, thieves are effective until you wise up.
A: Don't stand about or go AFK with anything in your backpack you would expect to be there when you came back to the keyboard.
B: Most thieves (bad thieves) are naked and around the bank area.
C: You get an alert that they're snooping you 10 seconds before they can start stealing. Learn to push or just move away.
only take out money from the bank when you need it to trade or buy a skill book, not before.
E: Thieves cannot steal large stacks of goods (not sure about cash) over 365, they larger the stack the harder to steal.
Spotting and avoiding thieves is pretty easy for anyone that can be bothered however for some it seems easier to get robbed then cry about it on forums.
Im good enough to not get stolen in town and im good enough to steal. The problem is how you can abuse thievery. There is no risk in town when you are a naked thief so its unfair. This game is suppose to be about risk vs reward. So thief should buy a pocket to be able to steal maybe. That way, they will always have to risk something. What is annoying other then that is the searching skill. Like i said, no one can steal from me, but its annyoying to get the search atempt notification millions of time by the same person. I had to stand for 30 minutes in the library to finally buy my book while waiting for the thief to get tired so i could buy books freely. (That day, only one thief was there. Something is really wrong in that case) Searching atempt should have a limit on how many time you can search on the same person. Maybe 3 to 5 time per person should be the limit. A cooldown should be there too.

ORRRRR.... you know... being a "sandbox game"... maybe you shuld just be able to turn an kick his ass? Instead of playing the "flagging game" so someone can summon the inta-kill guards? This whole "we need more game mechanics to show us how to play" thing is just sooo sad.
And thieves do risk something.. their time. Time = eveything in an MMO. All your gold is just an equivalent to time... it takes x time to get that gold. A semi-productive harvester, hunter or PvPer will end up with much.. much more for their time than a thief will.

They dont waste their time because they easily raise their thievery skills. Once they done with that, they do serious thievering damage outside towns where players will road around with real stuff to steal.
For the flagging part, you have to take in mind that MO never intended to be pvp focus only. So there need to be limit for pkers to give potential to other play style. Anyway, the world of MO outside town is already dangerous. There is a lot of red pkers out side. Dont also forget that MO is not a grinding game. You dont waste time in MO, you simply play the game and your stats and skills will raise naturally fast. You will get to the cap before you notice it.
For the guards insta kill, this is what i hate, but its not the real guard system. It will change when they will be ready to change it. Guards will be presented as real npc's and they wont do super ridiculously high damage. They will be killable.
i believe some people are negative because they have a grudge against the game due to many reasons.
Many reasons include unprofessionalism and constant lying from the company. (i.e. "WE HAVE FIXED THE LAG" they said back in February lol...)
ive never experinced lag in ages? maybe you should try getting a better connection?, and if i remember correctly lag can be caused by many reasons and if im not correct are not betas for stress testing anyway?
right now there is no lag for me? are you sure its not just you guys?
maybe they did fix the lag on the server side, its not always the developers fault you know?
