What is there to do in EQ2 other then doing quests and killing stuff and chatting/RPing? Does it take as long to get a group as in FFXI? Is fighting mobs in a group just as fun and tactical as FFXI (I hated FFXI, but when you got a group and was fighting "very tough" critters, it was just SO MUCH fun and tactical). Can necromancers really raise freshly slain creatures or what, can somebody give me some info on them?
I'd only like an answer from those that actually regurally play EQ2 please, no WoW fanbois saying "Omg u shouldnt get EQ2, get WoW". Because I do like WoW, but I chose EQ2 because they don't let us Europeans play till early next year in WoW.
And will I get a good FPS with decent (non blurry) graphics with this PC: AMD Athlon XP 2700, 1gig RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 pro (128MB)? (I know its above Recommended but I just dont trust system requirements)
Thanks a lot, and have a great weekend everybody!

Let's see. I have never played a mmorpg where it is so easy to find a group, group battles can be challenging and strategic, especially when setting up a group chain for a heroic opportunity. For the Necro question, i'm not sure, haven't played a Necro.
As for the graphics, see my sig? I am running a P4 2.0Ghz, 1024MB RAM, ATI 9200 Pro 128MB and that is what an untouched (non-photoshopped) screenshot looks like on that card on medium settings. I get no lag at all either.

I have a similar system set up as you, mine is a 3.0 p4 with 1 Gig of RAM, and a 9800 pro 128mb card, and I run the game at high quality, which is the next step above medium (balanced) settings with no lag. Groups arent very hard to find if you play during primetime, early in the morning and really late at night it can be a bit of a wait (this is true for most games tho). No real tactics in group combat tho, aside from the basic warrior tanks, healer heals, etc... There are group heroics but so far all the ones I have seen up to lvl 18 dont really impact combat too much, and are more of a pain to coordinate for very lack luster results. Typically the personal heroics when done by the majority of the group tend to be be more beneficial. I do not know about the necromancer's powers. Doing quests, chatting, killing things, crafting, decorating your house, exploration, and RPing is what this game is in a nutshell. The game offers nothing really new to mmorpgs, but it is a well put together game, runs very well, looks great. Hope that helps .
