Should have thrown a poll in there... at least for the class. Is it too late to add one?
I'm thinking I'll be a Duskwight Archer to start. Then I may try out Thaumaturge and sub the Archer's invisibility ability to help with survival/enmity control.
By the way, there is a website out there with leaked alpha info for around 20-25 abilities for each class. I wish I could provide the link but I don't think I'm allowed to do so. Anyway, all the classes sound really fun!
Musketeer class hasn't been revealed.. how do you knwo it exists? Plus, I read a lot of your posts in other forums, your knowledge of the game seems to go beyond what has been released to the press...

I think he was joking about Musketeer. As for his other posts, there are definitely several sources of leaked Alpha info out there on the net but I don't think we can list them here without getting in trouble =(
As far as I know of the classes on the website, id end up a Midland Hyur Gladiator, but if more classes show up, then i might just change, im into single sword wielding though so gladiaor fits me, dual wielding prefered though and I dont know if gladiators can, so if one a dual wielding class shows up (that doesnt use though fist attachment weapons already) then that me.
MMOs played: Too many Watch List: FFXIV, CoH:GR, GW2, SWTOR, TERA, Earthrise

PM should be okay though.
I'm not joking though, but I cant't really prove it.. here
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
A long time ago I heard each discipline would have five classes. If there is a musketeer, it would be pretty interesting if it was a Disciple of Magic...
I'll be a Dunesfolk Lalafell using whatever I find to be the most useful support/healing based build.
People need to remember that you'll be using skills from multiple classes at once so your active class won't necessarily define much about your character.
With regards to the musketeer thing, it'll be a build title. I'm pretty sure that players won't be referring to their roles based on class, but rather using the title the game assigns you based on the combination of skills you equip. I suspect that's what Hyanmen is referring to (though please correct me if I'm wrong!).

The fact that you can sub abilities from different classes is one of the most exciting ideas of the game to me. Not only does it help with customization but it really rewards you for leveling up multiple jobs since it sounds like you can take an ability from here and an ability from there.
Having said that, I personally believe you will still be primarily defined by your main class but your sub-abilities will really give the player some unique flavor. If your a tank, do you want to sub some more attacks? A healing ability? A damage shield? I really hope they don't limit sub abilities too much and that this is how it works.
And no, he wasn't refering to Musketeer as a build title... nothing is confirmed but there is some interesting info out there on the net...

Hmmm done some searching but not dug up any rumours or leaks on any new classes, guess I'll just have to wait and see. :S

I hope this also!
Please SE do this!
That also fits good with the ability to spent your own attribute points.
If you want to make a paladin like character, make a Gladiator with some healing and protecting spells and spent your attribute points in such a way that you can be a good Paladin like character.
I am so hoping this will be the case... If they do it right then you could create a lot of jobs with just a few classes (they do need a little more classes then they have now.)
For race and class choise:
I think I will try a male character from the beginning this time. Probably an Archer, or Gladiator,( I usually play healer or mage) race: Hyur or Elezen.
Well, S-E has not said one way or another if there will be more classes or not.
However, there is a lot of information out there on the net (which unfortunately I can't repeat here) that makes it look like there will be a lot more classes. However, it is unknown how many of those classes will be ready at beta, release or added after release.
Personally, I believe they will be adding more classes before release.
Comments
Right now its between Lalafell & Mi'kote Lancer. I'll decide on my race when I finally get to play, but as of now, thats where I'm at.
Roegadyn Miner & Musketeer.
The name would be The Pacifista.
And I'd use a shotgun called Peacemaker.
Just how cool is that?
Im going to make a Lalafell, lancer and I'm going to reincarnate my FFXI taru. But Im sure I will be job hoping like crazy since I love the variety.

I Will Play as a Male Mo'qute for FFXIV if they are playable at relase as a glad or smn or bluemage if there added by then also.
Pretty fair to say you're in gota into Alpha didn't you?
Lucky dog!
Nah, I'm not that lucky =(

Thinking about a Wildwood Elezen Conjurer, although there probably are more Disciplines of Magic to be announced, so we'll see
That, and it seems that we'll be able to use cross-skills from other jobs as well, meaning that it's not as easy as to level up one job.

Whichever male captures my heart
I was pretty sure what I wanted to be a while back but I just don't know anymore.
I was going to pick...
Male Elezen
Black Mage, or Ranger type class
Alchemist
I just don't know what I want to be anymore though
Miquote Archer, or follow the ways of the Mnk, with Pugulist.
I can see it now, "PUG lfg! skill level XX~XX) lol...?
would be hilarious =D
Well if some sort of summoner job comes out thats what i'll be aiming for other then that its between Lancer and Conjurer
Race: Roegadyn
Culture: Hellsguard
City-State: Ishgard
Gladiator/miner/blacksmith.
Have all the classes been anounced at this point?
-Currently looking forward to FFXIV
-Currently playing EvE and Global Agenda
