Played and loved Asheron's Call...where to go now?

I played AC1 for about 7 years. It was the best game, best community, best loot system I've ever experienced.

I want a similar game, with a random loot gen (not a bunch of predetermined items), that dosn't rely on questing for xp. I loved the idea of grinding with groups in dungeons to level up...it forced people to have to meet each other.

I also liked the classless system a lot, as well as the housing system.

 

I tried Darkfall, didn't really like it that much. Been around to pretty much every major MMORPG released, and none of em really did it for me...

 

 

Any suggestions?

    Unfortunately, there is nothing out there quite like AC.  It is a truly one of a kind gem of a game.  Best I can recommend is maybe lotro or ddo.  NOt because the games are similar, more that they are also developed by turbine, and turbine is a large part of what makes AC special.  (For the record, AC2's problems had more to do with M$ then Turbine)

    Do not play DDO or LOTRO if you played AC and expect to be satisfied.   You likely will not be.   AC was the last truly great game I played.  None... and I cant stress that word enough.... None of the games Ive played since 2001 have come close to being what AC was.

    Darkfall is the best game out there, with best loot system i know of, because of full loot system, but i has the worst community i could imagine.

     

    I really don't know, if this game is for ya. It surely forces people to work together, because it's all about sieges and raids. There are fights with over 400 pople involved.

     

    Maybe you should try it. It offers a trial for only 1€ for over a week playtime.

    If you want to get some infos about this game, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE FORUMS.

    Read about it on other websites or ask some friends, but stay away from the official forum. As it is FFA and full loot all people, who lost a fight meet there and whine about everything.
