why? paladins are anything but overpowered.. even when played right...

although Blizz has changed our class mechanics so much since Burning Crusade, and kinda dumbed us down.. i miss my "normal judgement" button... hell even when exorcism thing came out, it was fine PvE... it was the PvP aspect blizz forgot about and that created more crying than i've ever seen about paladins (yeah it was overpowered PvP wise, slightly not nearly as much as everyone made out).

still nothing can be as bad as 1.9 (at the time every patch blizz was redoing classes, 1.9 was "the paladin" patch... SoC was still bugged after it.. heh)

1 v 1 will never be balanced PvP wise, and there's no reason why it should... PvP is normally centered around groups or large groups, not 1v1... duels are just for fun as always... of course everyone expects miracles, especially MMO players who if they're on the WoW forums tend to be either bitter and resentful or kidlike in posts [like youtube comments or 4chan] and fanboyish.

mature constructive posts are few and far between...

Blizz will just try to reinvent paladins again... looking at the other hybrids, you can be pretty sure the direction it'll go... to be honest, i think "holy" needs fixing, "protection" needs a little more leaveway and "retribution" needs something... not powerful.. not dps crazy, but just something.

Seeing as what the other classes are getting, my guess is paladins will be finally getting either a snare or a distance closer ability ala charge or (druid kitty leap).

Have you noticed that too.. the lines between class distinction are becomming blurred?

Nice another shield! And it blinds people! I was guessing that they would get a summon pet but oh well!

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Guardian of Ancient Kings (level 85):

Summons a temporary guardian that looks like a winged creature of light armed with a sword. The visual is similar to that of the Resurrection spell used by the paladin in Warcraft III. The guardian has a different effect depending on the talent spec of the paladin. For Holy paladins, the guardian heals the most wounded ally in the area. For Protection paladins, the guardian absorbs some incoming damage. For Retribution paladins, it damages an enemy, similar to the death knight Gargoyle or the Nibelung staff. 3-minute cooldown. 30-second duration (this might vary depending on which guardian appears).

I agree.  They've been homogenizing the classes over the last couple of years.  They don't seem to have the distinctive characteristics they once had.

I agree.  They've been homogenizing the classes over the last couple of years.  They don't seem to have the distinctive characteristics they once had.

There are plenty of aspects that are distinctive between the classes still, but they have removed aspects that made a CLASS the vital aspect of a groups composition (for the most part anyhow).  Things that are essential to group play are now spread across a few classes.

I've never been a fan of giving a class some mandatory buff or ability that made them an essential element to a group regardless of how bad the player or class might be.   For example needing multiple bards for each class just because they are the only class that offers the resistance buffs needed for an encouter.   I relaly loath the feast of famine mentality of class design where a class has their niche roll of something like crowd control or buffing as their sole incentive of group viability and everything else the class has is subpar/neglected that it has little value on its own.

I think it is the right approach to class design, because it allows flexibilty in group makeup.  Two groups may have completely different makeups and still succeed, but with slightly different tactics.  As far as wow goes, I think they have improved the class mechanics overall the last several years.  Compare class status in orignal game to now.  Any spec can perform their designed roll now.  Paladins/druids/shaman are viable beyond being healers.  Warriors are not the only capable raid tank.  All dps specs are viable.   Complete balance, no, but overall it is excellent.

**edit:  I'm more rambling in general here than directing anything at you personally.  Sorry if this reads that way, because it is not my intention**
