How to play for free in Entropia

Entropia is being bashed over and over again as being a money sucking thing from the depths of evil. This is ofcourse very true, but you can also do stuff for free.

What you can do for free:

-You can find fruit, and stones and sell them to other players for markup. There is a detailed list of fruitspawnlocations here:

http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/resources/139536-location-fruit-stones-dung-project.html

tutorial how to find fruits and stones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj3CKYLKwyA

- Do the missions: At port atlantis, the city you are born as an avatar, you will find a mission broker. She will offer you 5 quests to perform. another 75 missions/quests will be added next month to keep you going, not all of them are free ofcourse but the first 5 are doable without any money.

- Find all the teleporters so you can easily get around the planet (this will take you hours of exploring the unique landscape of entropia.  Watch the youtube here (in hd) and see how good it actually looks now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMETLZ5R3uo

- jump off an 800 m cliff.. check it out in the vid above., great fun!

if you dont like running alone, go here:

http://www.entropiatouragency.com/

- go find a mountain - Athena Space Port is always fun - and lay down, and watch your avatar roll down the hill. Get a group of friends together and see who can roll the furtherest without stopping.

- go and "skill up" on evade by starting mob trains... Try to get the trains close to the revive, but still far enough out that the turrets don't kill any mobs - now go die, run out there, die, and do it all over again and again to build up your skills. .

- go check out the malls (windowshopping)

- go fly! THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THE BEST DONE FLYING EXPERIENCE IN ANY GAME ..  (although a glitch)

and in full hd:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtDrbBaoMAM

- be adopted: as a new player you can get adopted by an experienced one, and they will teach you how to play (and most of the time you get a free weapon and some ammo)

http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842

- read guides to enhance your knowledge and avoid mistakes (check out alice's guide on this forum)

- create an account on entropiaforum, post your threads there, earn entropiaforumdollars, convert them to ped and buy ammo or a weapon

there are also free events, you can find them on the entropia forums, entropiaforum.com or entropiaplanets.com

for example the march on troy: http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/events/173236-march-troy-new-beginning.html

or the swunt marathon: http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/event-promotion/183562-swunt-marathon-great-event-no-tickets-needed-so-free.html

or the pick up free weapons events: http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/event-promotion/181856-50-free-opalos-1-free-opalo-sga-30-ped-ammo.html

- create a society and gather other new players and become a close network of virtual friends

- with your new society of say 40 ish people create 3 teams of 12 ppl. first group lures a large herde of uber mobs to the rig, they all die, including the pk'ing people there, second group lure the herde of mobs out again, third group try to get the oil. The oilrig spawns barrels of oil every 15 minutes. I did get oil using this exact method, although I must say it was a different rig in project entropia in 2005  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTsn36NNqIw

-oww I forgot,, besides all that you can also sweat animals and sell the sweat to other players..

how to sweat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya5h6QhJiuU

Good luck!

Subjecting SpawnStorms post to ridicule was entirely unnecessary and absolutely without merit.

    Knowledge is power.

The more you know, the better off you'll be inside the game. At least in my experience...

Sick of playing Entropia Universe? Want to quit, but don't want your hard earned money to vanish? Give your items to ME :-)

EU isnt really a game where its cheap to solo early on.  You can do it, but the fun gameplay will  be quickly over, and youll be spending more time sweating and walking around picking up poo than playing a fun game.

Youll think to yourself during this time "If I were playing Mortal Online I would be having much more fun."

    You would  be right.

EU tends to get better as a player gets more experienced.  All money  management questions aside, this is how the game is intended to be played.   It makes most of its money off solo players who come in, deposit $20, $40, $60, or $100 without learning the system because the startup phase of the game is so bloody boring.  These players then leave, and since their accounts arent worth over $100 their cash stays in the system or is paid out to other players.

Keep this in mind, and focus early on with cheap group hunts.  You'll find your skills raise quicker because you can take on bigger mobs, your hunts last longer because you have 5 people spending 40 PED on a hunt rather than 1 person, and you will likely global more often because you are killing more mobs her hunt cycle.

Save the solo play for when you can afford it.

Best advice really!  Although the odd solo hunt with low level mobs which you can handle is fine.

To be honest though, i prefer team hunting.  It's more social, more of a laugh, more quicker to take down mobs.  Sure having team means part of the loot is split all ways, but in team you can kill more mobs and having longer hunts - so it more or less balances out in that aspect.
