Simple to start?

I simply love Lord Of The Rings. Hell, I read the books in 3rd grade!(Yes, I even comprehended them.) They are simply incredible to me!

I'm sitting around doing nothing when I get home from school because I have no (fun)games left to play. I played LOTR during beta phase and thought it was all good fun, but I was in WoW mode then >.> So I never really got into it.

How has the game changed? I know expansions have come out and such.

How is the end game? I'm big into PvE raiding with guilds and friends.

How accessible is it? I'm not looking for easy mode, but I'm not looking forward to spending 24 hours grinding to reach level 10.

How much is the monthly fee?(is it $10 now?)

I'm looking for anything good and bad on this game. Thank you to all who reply :)

There are a few raids but it's not really a raiding game. Certainly not on the level of wow. It is very accessible.

I pay about 15.00 per month I think.

You must read the quests or else the game will devolve into kill x of y.

This is, in my opinion, one of those games that you play in the moment and not rush to top level.

If you are a fan of the lore, then I don't see how you couldnt like LOTRO.

As the above poster said just emerse yourself in the world, enjoy the story lines and you'll barely notice the leveling.

If you are a PvE guy than this is the game for you, there is no PvP (that stuff in Ettenmoors doesn't count, folks) but I enjoyed the PvE very much when I played.

Also you'll find the community to be the single best in all of MMOland.

I've said before that IMO LOTRO is the most complete MMO on the market. It is truly only missing one element (albeit a big one to many) and that's PvP.
