So i'm understanding that there is a rank level with the weapon your using and a physical level. I was wondering how this plays out once you start progressing through the different classes. Like for example if I progress through the game as one class and keep my rank level even with my physical level, if I wanted to change my class (start at rank 1 again with a different weapon) would I have to fight things close to my physical lvl to gain exp or would I have to go back to the beginner zones. If I went back to the beginner zone as a physical lvl 20 and a rank of 1 wouldn't I be overpowering the entire zone? Or maybe if your physical lvl 20, when you switch to a different rank the physical lvl scales down with you and continues to scale up once your rank level increases. I dont know, what do you think?

Beats me. They never really said as far as I know. Unless someone actually knows, I guess it's a wait and see type of thing.
To be the best, you must help each other become the best.

This is entirely speculation but the physical level mechanic is very similar to the merit system in FFXI. When you switched to a lower level job there your merits would scale down with you so you'd still have a bonus but it wouldn't be game breaking. I suspect it may work in a similar fashion in XIV.
On the other hand it may be possible that your physical level will function entirely independent of your class rank. In that case it'll allow players to switch to any class at any time and still be able to perform reasonably well regardless of if they've levelled that specific class up. The only limiter there would be based on what skills you've unlocked access to.
I imagine it'll be the first option since that will allow the reuse of the most content and encourage a stable low level population like in XI. I can see the benefits of both though.
